Great device but

High price great device but first purchase developed a fault so we returned it for replacement under the warranty. Subsequently the second device, after less than 12 months is now malfunctioning. Unfortunately the store warranty only applies to the original device so PB would not replace the second device. However as my wife likes her Forma so much we have just ordered another and hope this new device is more reliable than the previous 2.

Hight NOT recommended! I'm extremely unhappy with this device.

The power button is bad. It takes A LOT OF effort for me to be able to push the button. So I have to spend another $70 to buy a sleep cover so that I can more easily put the device to sleep. Imagine a plain low-tech cover costs for $70! Yet this is not the end of it. Then I find from time to time the touch screen does not respond at all. And I have to try hard to push that power button to shutdown and restart the device!

Returned three

I bought the first one about June 2020. By March 2021 I was returning the third Forma that I'd had. They had all frozen mid read. I've just got a cheaper kobo and a JB Hifi gift card for the difference. I cannot recommend this model.

Like it so far

I bought this primarily to read articles via Pocket (shown on the Kobo as "Articles"), so I haven't yet considered the book feature, but I can say the interface for reading is great. The screen is much bigger than a typical e-reader and refreshes well, which makes reading easy. It can even read PDFs well, with the unfortunate caveat that Pocket hides them! But possible to access them from the experimental browser and probably from Dropbox.

I love my Kobo Forma

I have been begging my mother for this for months as a belated birthday present. Am not disappointed. My Kobo Forma is so easy to use with the touch screen, all the formats it can handle, internet connectivity and the easiness of transferring files. An absolute must have for any book lover!

I'm converted to e-readers

Already my go to device for reading both fiction & professional books. Light, easy to use, connects with my public library. Excellent readability in both natural and artificial light. Quiet expensive for what it is, but for convenience it wins hands down.

Excellent eReader

The size of page is large. I really like the light change to warm colour as it gets later at night. Such a bonus being able to borrow books from the council library for free. It's very light to hold even with the cover on.

Beautiful large screen

Has a large screen yet the weight is lower than older smaller e readers. There is a hidden white text on black background mode for people who want that. The buttons don't feel great but function correctly. The yellow light mode is great for evening reading.

Great book reader

Excellent. light, large screen size similar to small book. Much improved from earlier models, which themselves were very good.

Kobo Forma review

The Kobo Forma is good for its waterproof design and big screen, but it doesn't reach the heights of the Kindle Oasis. However, it's a suitable alternative if you want to avoid Amazon, or you're already embedded in the Kobo ecosystem.

Strong battery life; Comfortable reading experience; Waterproof build;

Lacklustre design; Limited ebook store; Very expensive
