Knack review

Knack is a throwback title that awakens memories of PSone-era 3D platformers. Does it update the formula while adequately massaging those nostalgia glands? James Cullinane removes his rose-tinted glasses.

Knack's character model alludes to the system's power

Flat characterisation; Simple, uninspiring combat; Fails to capitalise on the handful of interesting ideas scattered throughout

A Knack for Provoking Simultaneous Frustration and Pleasure

Pros: Shiiiny graphiiiics.... and the combat can be a barrel of button-mashing fun when its at its best. Cons: The other half of the time, it can make you want to snap your controller in half; too little platforming; no replay value.

Review: Knack

In a world where the resurgent species of Goblins have begun gaining armaments and weaponry beyond their capabilities. They are now taking aggressive steps to reclaim the world that humans once took from them.

Good for kids, no freedom, highly repetitive

Not a lot of freedom of choice, very directed experience. Bug and crash free for my kids experience, though, that's always something, especially these days. It gets pretty boring for adults when playing with kids, though.

Great for kids around 6-10

My 12 year old son played it and finished the game in about a day

One of my all time favs

Seriously no cons to this game if this is the style you're going for. Relaxing, fun filled, family friendly game that has a ton of replay value. Great story that doesn't linger but doesn't go by too quickly.

Review: Knack is a defiantly antiquated PS4 platformer

Knack is a competent throwback to the golden age of the platform genre, but certainly not a giant leap forward.

Brutal difficulty; Some unique puzzles; Online trading mixes it up

Unremarkable level design; Character growth isn't intricate; Difficulty may frustrate beginners

Knack

'Knack,' the PS4 launch title for the "rest of the family" as described by Mark Cerny. As the PlayStation 4 was building to its release, Mark Cerny quickly became a household name for PlayStation devotees.

"Fun for all ages"

Can be repetitive as you have to redo whole sections if you die but otherwise fun games with excellent graphics good family game for PS4

Falling to pieces.

Mercy is not part of Knack's vocabulary. He happily uppercuts a defeated enemy into a steaming lake of molten lava and flings an aircraft by its tail into the unforgiving ground. And don't believe for a second that he sheds a single tear for the pilot engulfed in the flaming wreckage; Knack doesn't...

Well-realized environments that you want to exist in

Little variety to distract from the nonstop fighting; Even enlarging Knack or turning him invisible doesn't change the action; Artificial environments and enemy interactions; Tiresome combat with a meager move set

KNACK

KNACK is the first Playstation 4 exclusive game Family Friendly Gaming is reviewing. Want to know something? It is the worst representation of the next generation on so many levels. KNACK is a huge disappointment. This home console game is boring, uninspired, and violent.
