Knack

'Knack,' the PS4 launch title for the "rest of the family" as described by Mark Cerny. As the PlayStation 4 was building to its release, Mark Cerny quickly became a household name for PlayStation devotees.

Knack Review – PlayStation 4

With the introduction of each new generation of console I'm always excited to see the first release for each genre type, especially when that game is a first-part title as is the case with Knack.

Positives And original lead character and technological showpiece; outstanding cutscene animation style

Negatives Game is too long, boring, repetitive, and rooted in ancient platforming tropes ; The few things that help break up the monotony are too few and far between

Test : Knack [PS4]

Not the best, but not too bad either

Knack is, in my opinion, a game quite reminiscent of the Crash Bandicoot era of the PS1. With the cartoony, semi-Pixar-like graphics, to the fairly...

Graphics; Easy to pick up and understand

Knack: review

For the last few generations, launch games for a new console generally aren't very good. That's just the way things are. Titles such as Resogun prove that there are still exceptions to this rule, but what of Knack – one of only two Sony-published retail titles for the PS4?

Knack

Knack is not only a miserably boring action game, but it features one of the worst heroes ever made. Knack is easy to kill, stupid looking and part of an adventure that will never end. This PlayStation 4 game is too difficult for kids and too generic for adults.

Knack really surprised me this is a really fun and addictive game. The moment I started playing knack I was completely hooked this is really an incredible game. Why knack got so many mixed reviews is beyond me. Knack is a fun and adorable gaming experience

Knack Review | Ruined Relic

Mark Cerny. Architect not only of beloved IPs such as Crash Bandicoot, Jak & Daxter, and Spyro the Dragon, but also of the PlayStation 4 itself. This smiling genteel man has been one of the most visible exponents of innovative design over the years, no more so than in the past twelve months as Sony...

It's pretty to look at; Younger gamers might find something to enjoy here; Retro fans looking for a £50 challenge might get a kick out of it

It's pretty to look at; Younger gamers might find something to enjoy here; Retro fans looking for a £50 challenge might get a kick out of it; The repetition; The risible level design; The lack of ideas; The lack of mechanical progression; The horribly-implemented co-op; The price; The bland; insipid...

I choose to tackle the archer first, after I manage to avoid his incoming arrow using the right stick of my controller and, from the jump, I curl into a ball and take him out before I jump again to avoid a grenade and then slam into the robot.

Knack character design; Relic-based growth

Simple combat; Non-interesting story; Limited cooperative mode

The game made for no one.

Although my tastes don't always sync up with others', it's easy to understand the appeal of genres that don't grab me. Racers let players go fast in expensive cars, shooters turn virtual killing into high-energy action, and so on. In most games, the intentions of the designers are generally obvious.

Growing to giant size in the final level

Getting tired of the gameplay with two thirds left to go
