Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Review

The T5 II are similar to the original, but Klipsch has made some sensible design tweaks and they now offer even better mid-range and bass performance than before. They're susceptible to sibilant tones though, and at this price we'd expect active noise cancellation to be supported.

Sub-bass with power and poise; Rigorous mid-range coverage; Fancy charging case;

Prone to treble sibilance; Not as lively and wide-sounding as some; No active noise cancellation;

Klipsch T5 II true wireless earbuds review: Never mind AirPods

Klipsch’s T5 II wireless earbuds are stylish, compact, and they sound great. But is that enough to raise them above all the other wireless earbud choices? If you’re considering the Apple AirPods, or just looking for an alternative, you definitely need to check out Klipsch’s $200 T5 II wireless earbuds. They are the second generation of an already great set of earbuds, and while (like the AirPods) they don’t have noise-canceling built-in, they’ve got just about everything else. And unlike the AirPods, they’re compact and comfortable to wear. While the Klipsch T5 II’s come with a paper instruction manual, you can also access all the information in the manual via their app. The earbuds come with a nice selection of silicone eartips — some oval and some round — which are crucial to the comfort of the earbuds, as well as their sound quality performance. With wireless earbuds, the comfort of the fit is everything, and the T5 II excel in this area. You’ll also find a braided fabric USB-C-to U...

Great fit; Inconspicuous design; Great sound quality; Solid battery life; Fun charging case;

No wireless charging; No active noise cancellation; Call quality is not great;

Klipsch T5 II True Wireless review: Sensational sound

The first-generation Klipsch T5 was one of our favourite pairs of true wireless earbuds. The second-generation takes what was great and refines the rest. It's a truly stunning pair of 'buds.

Great sound quality; Stunning and robust charging case; Wireless charging; Lightweight design; Solid battery life;

No active noise-cancelling (ANC); No automatic play/pause when removed from ears;

Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Sport Earphones Review

We’re fans of the new $199 Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Earphones thanks to their waterproof earpieces, stylish charging case, and bass-forward sound signature. For $30 more, the Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Sport take everything we like about those earphones and add fins to the earpieces for an even more stable fit for exercise. They also come with a waterproof charging case, marking the first time we've seen one in the true wireless department. Audio performance between the two pairs is nearly identical, though the added fit stability can also provide a more consistent listening experience. We feel that these upgrades justify the increase in price, especially if you need a watertight charging case.Fully Waterproof, Down to the Charging Case Available in black, green, or white models, the T5 II True Wireless Sport Earphones take the somewhat sporty design of the standard model and double down on it. The earpieces add earfins for extra stabilization, and though they look like they’r...

Klipsch’s exercise-friendly T5 II True Wireless Sport Earphones come with a waterpoof charging case and deliver a bass-forward sound signature with an extra-secure fit.

Waterproof earpieces and charging case; Bass-forward but balanced sound signature; Transparency mode allows for easy monitoring of surroundings; Lots of included accessories; App has adjustable EQ

Sculpted sound signature not for those seeking accuracy

Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Earphones Review

We really liked Klipsch's original T5 True Wireless Earphones, so we're happy to see them return in the form of the $199 T5 II, with upgrades including completely waterproof earpieces. These true wireless earphones also deliver a bass-forward sound signature that may not appeal to audiophiles, but manages to maintain a sense of balance in the mix by also sculpting the highs and not going overboard with the lows. They're a solid followup to the original, though for $30 more, we prefer the T5 II True Wireless Sport Earphones, which have a more secure in-ear fit and come with a waterproof battery case.A Modern Retro Design Klipsch’s aesthetic often blends some form of retro styling with a touch of modern, and the T5 II True Wireless Earphones are no exception to this approach. Available in gunmetal or silver, the physical design of the earpieces has an almost sporty look to it, while the outer control panels are emblazoned with a large, retro Klipsch logo. The brushed metal charging ...

The T5 II True Wireless Earphones delivers strong, bass-forward audio from fully waterproof earpieces, though Klipsch offers an even more exercise-friendly model for just a little more money.

Bass-forward but balanced sound signature; Waterproof earpieces; Nice haul of included accessories; App with adjustable EQ

Sport model adds waterproof case and better in-ear fit for $30 more; Bass-forward sound signature isn't for audiophiles

Klipsch T5 II True Wireless ANC review: Polishing a diamond

The price jump is hard to ignore, but that's the only real bothersome point about Klipsch's superb wireless earbuds - which add active noise-cancelling (ANC) to an already stellar package - which are otherwise some of the most compelling true wireless 'buds that we've ever tested.

Superb sound; Good active noise-cancelling (ANC); Great case;

Rather pricey; Still no ear detection;

Klipsch T5 II True Wireless ANC review

While the Klipsch offer excellent sound quality, a premium design, decent noise-cancellation, and some unique features, they’re not as successful across the board as Sony’s WF-1000XM4 and the extra cost associated with them is more difficult to justify. If you’re after earbuds that you can control to some degree via head gestures, there are few alternatives.

Remarkable audio with Dirac HD; Premium design and feel; Automated commands are a boon;

Pricey compared with competitors; Average battery and no fast-charge; ANC is solid but not the best

Klipsch T5 II True Wireless ANC Earphones Review

Klipsch is no stranger to high-end audio gear, and joins 2021’s barrage of noise-cancelling true wireless earphones with the T5 II True Wireless ANC. Whereas many of the pairs we're seeing this year fall below the $200 mark, Klipsch shoots straight for the top with an asking price of $299. The earphones definitely have their charms, with a retro-cool look and feel, gesture controls, and sculpted but balanced audio performance. But compared with our Editors' Choice winner, Sony's $280 WF-1000XM4 earphones, Klipsch falls short when it comes to active noise cancellation (ANC). Ultimately, the price here is simply too high considering you can easily get better performance elsewhere for less.A Stylish Design You Can Control With Your Head Available in copper, gunmetal, or silver models, the T5 II True Wireless ANC Earphones feature one of the sturdier, classier charging cases on the market. A side-opening flip-top lid—like a Zippo lighter—reveals the docked earpieces, which are emblaz...

Despite solid audio performance, the Klipsch T5 II True Wireless ANC Earhpones are priced too high for what they deliver in the noise cancellation department.

Sculpted but balanced audio; Supports gesture controls

Expensive; Noise cancellation is just average for the price; App frequently pauses

Klipsch T5 II ANC Review

Engaging sound, with improved refinement; Dirac HD processing can make music sound more dynamic; Charging case is an ornament in its own right;

ANC isn’t as effective as rival earphones; Battery life is on the short side; Very expensive at RRP;
