I honestly couldn't tell you the last time that I've played a Kirby game, if at all. But if there's one thing that the Nintendo Switch has introduced me too, it's something a little different from the norm.

The name Kirby Star Allies isn't just for show. Whether you're adventuring through Dream Land with up to three friends or playing with competent AI teammates, Kirby's ever-rotating group of uniquely powered pals are the real stars of the show here.

Kirby has always been about harnessing the skills of others. The pink blob's main move is to suck up enemies and take on their abilities. In , Nintendo's B-team captain takes that concept to the next level.

Sometimes, you just want to sit back and enjoy a video game without being pushed to your limits. Not every game has to challenge your endurance, your patience and problem solving skills.

Kirby Star Allies is a fun, satisfying platformer that doesn't offer much in the way of surprises. It's bright, colorful, cheerful, and fairly easy; for this type of game, this is a good thing.

Kirby Star Allies isn't the greatest game in the series, nor is it the most original. Yet, with its fun gameplay, ample content and modes, and gorgeous presentation, it remains an irresistible title for Switch owners.

I am an avid switch gamer. I have just about every game. My taste in games go from Outlast and Layers of Fear to Mario Odyssey and Kirby: Star Allies. Let me just say how great this game looks. It is colorful, whimsical and just plain funny at times.
