Kingston DataTraveler HyperX 8GB USB Flash Drive

Back in 2002, Legit Reviews was one of the first publications to look at the Kingston HyperX memory series and it seems now in 2008 the HyperX series has expanded into USB Flash Drives.  With the success of the HyperX series it would only make sense to keep the branding the same across different

Kingston DataTraveler Secure 8GB review

Kingston's DataTraveler Secure looks and feels like a tough flash drive. It's even waterproof and the cap attaches to the rear of the drive when not needed. Unlike the other flash drives here, the DataTraveler Secure has hardware 256-bit encryption.

Does what it's supposed to do

This is a solid piece of kit. I've had mine for at least 2 years and it still works perfectly. It's small and light and the cap stays on when you put it on - which is more than can be said for some of the other brands. At the current price for 8GB, it's also very affordable.

8GB space; robust; good value

Good value

This is a lightweight, easy-to-use flash memory drive. I've used it to back up very large document folders on my computer and transfer files from one computer to another, and it works perfectly.

it's too stiff

My other Kingston drives have a connector cover that swivels out of the way. I've been reluctant to put them in my pocket, for fear that the cover would catch on my keys or something. This drive doesn't have that problem; you push the 2 ends of the housing together to expose the connector.
