Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 G3 32 GB

The Kingston Ultimate 3.0 G3 flash drive is a third-generation unit for professional business users demanding high performance and a solid, understated, stylish, and cap-less design. With capacities of up to 64 GB, it also offers the storage required by some.

Excellent build quality; Great USB 3.0 read performance; Very good USB 3.0 write speeds; Excellent USB 2.0 performance; Solid metal ring to use on key chain; Slide back protecting cover for connector; Blue LED included; Lifetime warranty; Available with 32 and 64 GB capacity

Quite bulky; Heavier than other sticks of similar performance; Packaging is not user-friendly

Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 G3 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Review

Transferring files between 2 computers has been made extremely easy for a while now with flash drives.  These devices are small enough to fit in our pocket, deliver fast transfer speeds, and can hold quite a lot of data.  Today we are taking a look at one of Kingston's latest flash drives.

Outperformed listed specifications; Tough metal casing; Retractable design; 5 year warranty

None that I found

Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 Generation 2 (32GB)

The Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 Generation 2 (32GB, $80 street) represents the latest incarnation of the humble flash drive, but it ramps up the possibilities with 32GB of space, a fast USB 3.0 connection, and a chunky plastic enclosure protecting the drive against bumps, bangs, and crushing.

Fast USB 3.0 performance; 32GB capacity; Chunky design should weather bumps and spills easily

Pricey; Bulky design will crowd surrounding ports; Runs hot.

Kingston Data Traveler Ultimate 3.0

While not the fastest USB 3.0 drive, Kingston DT Ultimate 3.0 is very tempting with killer warranty and enough speed to satisfy most customers' needs. If you don't mind giving up some read speed for longevity, then it may just be right up your alley.

Stylish good looks in a retro chic kinda way; Decent read performance with good write performance; LED indicator is not annoyingly bright; Great 5 year warranty; No software needed to get the most from it; Uses default MS drivers; Y adapter included for increased compatibility with USB 2.0 systems

Pricey for the speed it offers; May block USB ports to either side of it; Requires USB 3.0 to get the most from it; Will more than likely NEED the Y adapter for hassle-free USB 2.0 connectivity

Back to School Review: Kingston 32GB DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 G2

The Kingston DT Ultimate 32GB G2 is a fantastic USB drive that surpasses even our and Kingston's expectations for the drive. Although the drive itself may be on the pricey side, the performance and quality that you get from this drive are nearly worth every penny.

Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 32GB G2 Review

Kingston, a leading memory vendor has just announced their first USB 3.0 flash drive almost a year later than the world first USB 3.0 flash drive in Nov 2009. This is understandable as it takes time for the market to accept and acknowledge all the new technologies before they go into mass production...

+ Greater speeds than USB2.0 devices; + Strong & durable Aluminum housing; + Minimal overheated problem; + Comes with 5 years warranty

- A bit bulky; - Not cheap
