It sometimes costs less than better performing drives.

When first released and reviewed by the industry Kingston used synchronous NAND when building the V300's; In later revisions they transitioned to using cheaper asynchronous NAND which has resulted in severely degraded performance and did nothing to make customers aware of the change

Be sure to research the reviews before purchasing

Kingston changed the internal components they are currently shipping in this product to lower quality ones without changing the product name. I have one of the early one that is really fast but this newer version I bought is MUCH slower.

Great price for the SSD, although not the best obviously

I would recommend this to people like me that do not need all that blazing speed. It really saves up my money so that I can spend it on things that can push more frames for me in games.

This SSD was a massive upgrade over my HDD - I did not realize how slow it was until I got this; And to think this is one of the slower SSDs you can find - insane; I don't need all that cutting edge performance because I just do regular stuff like browse the web, watch Twitch/YouTube, and game (not...

I had this SSD for a few months and it would intermittently cause the OS to freeze, especially when starting up a VM; Upon searching I found that there was a firmware update for the SSD - 60AABBF0.

Nice one

this ssd is nice one, not so fast. windows index is 7.2 out of 7.9 (in other ssd it is 7.9/7.9) but as compare to price it's performance is O.K. start up time for win 8 is 13 sec. start up time in mac is 12 sec.

"Kingston V300 Upgrade kit - breathe new life into an ageing PC"

Solid State Drives Edited 4/8/15 Solid state disk (SSD) drives offer a lot of performance enhancements over conventional hard disks (HDD) and replacing an existing HDD with one will breathe new life into a sluggish system.

All you need to perform an easy upgrade to SSD at a good price; Reputable/reliable manufacturer

Maxium size 480GB; Not the fastest SSD but still much faster than a hard disk

The 120GB Kingston SSDNow V300 Series SV300S3D7 internal solid-state drive (SSD) is priced to appeal to ordinary consumers but with performance that sat at the top of the enthusiasts market not so long ago.

Great price/performance ratio; Priced well below $1 per GB

Older SF-2181 loses speed in random read/writes; or when working with uncompressed data

Kingston SSDNow V300 Solid State Drive Review: SandForce with New Fixings

You may have the impression that solid state drives on LSI SF-2281 controller have already been studied and tested inside out. However, Kingston managed to come up with a product that turned out genuinely surprising in the most positive way.

Good

Really easy to install in a desktop, it comes with all the necessary hardware to do so. Didn't use to clone my existing disk just to dual boot Linux and Windows and it does the job perfectly. There are fastest SSD in the market nowadays but for the price is worth it.
