We have in our labs Kingston's latest solid-state drives (SSDs) for PCs and laptops, the SSDNow V300 Series. Designed to replace the existing SSDNow V200 models, the V300 should offer sequential read and write speeds of around 450MB/s - somewhere between five and 10 times faster than a traditional...

Excellent Upgrade

Bought this for a 2012 macbook pro and this breathed new life into the machine. Like night and day. Has been working for a couple of years now.

No disappointment

Among somewhat less exotic offerings, I was lucky enough to get sent this item to try and keep, by Amazon. It is currently priced at £78. Solid state drives, which, in case you were wondering, unlike traditional hard drives have no moving mechanical parts, have been decreasing in price of late and I...

Very poor speeds

I was suckered in by the bargain offer price, but upon testing I'm only getting write speeds of around 22mb/s and read speeds of 370mb/s. My 2 year old Plextor is still getting 450 writes and 520 reads. It's cheap, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. That isn't a typo, 22mb/s write speed.

Kingston SSDNow V300 240GB SSD Review

As the SSD market gradually comes to grips with lower prices, greater popularity and higher performance metrics, the new Kingston SSDNow V300 represents an intriguing blend of possibilities for first time SSD buyers.

Fast Boot time

HDD drive failure so decided to go with a SSD. Easy to setup. Cloning software was included, but I was unable to use due to HDD failure, but did try it after, very good product. Buying the kit would be the easy way to go. SSD has decreased boot up times to less than 45 seconds.

Kingston SSDNow V300 (120GB & 240GB) Review

I have one issue with the V300: There's nothing particular in it that would differentiate it from the other SandForce based SSDs. While Kingston said they did lots of customization and worked closely with SandForce/LSI, at least in our testing there aren't any striking differences.

Great price for the SSD, although not the best obviously

I would recommend this to people like me that do not need all that blazing speed. It really saves up my money so that I can spend it on things that can push more frames for me in games.

This SSD was a massive upgrade over my HDD - I did not realize how slow it was until I got this; And to think this is one of the slower SSDs you can find - insane; I don't need all that cutting edge performance because I just do regular stuff like browse the web, watch Twitch/YouTube, and game (not...

I had this SSD for a few months and it would intermittently cause the OS to freeze, especially when starting up a VM; Upon searching I found that there was a firmware update for the SSD - 60AABBF0.

Make Sure You Factor in the Price of Cloning Software

Great SSD, but it DOES NOT COME WITH CLONING SOFTWARE! I used AOMEI Backupper Professional and used its "system clone" feature, which worked perfectly. Samsung Data Migration will not work. As far as speeds, I have a low-end Asus E5 laptop, and it's now at least 5x faster than before.
