Kingston V300 240GB

Another in the list of SandForce SSDs is the latest from Kingston, the SSDNow V300. It's not entirely different in most regards, but it does have Toshiba Toggle NAND and exclusive input from LSI directly to tweak the controller's performance.

Faster speeds than specification; robust accessory package; competitive price; customized controller by LSI

SandForce 2281 struggles with incompressible data; not fastest SSD on the market

Kingston Technology's 120GB V300 SSDNow Desktop and Notebook Upgrade Kits Reviewed

Consumers are looking for larger SSDs at lower price points and it seems the NAND manufacturers (Intel, Micron, etc) are dragging their heals on...

Good pricing: as affordable as SSDs come; LSI Sandforce Controller; 19nm Toshiba NAND; Respectable price-performance; Great Desktop and Laptop Upgrade Kit bundles; Acronis software and support

Waiting for larger capacities; 4K data block could be better

This makes a great drive for building a fast booting computer. Has room enough for Windows, Office, and most applications (but games). Documents, files, pictures will have to find room elsewhere, there's just not enough room for everything.

Fast; really silent

No room for data

perfect upgrade

replaced the old hhd in my laptop and this works amazing. I didn't use the cloning software on the cd because who knows if it's out of date or what not. I just downloaded a free version and BAM was done within 4 hours (gotta realize cloning a drive will take forever no matter what software or ssd...

My best upgrade in a while

A solid state drive is probably the best upgrade you can add to your system should you still have a HDD. As you might expect, Windows loads in a fraction of the time, but apps open more quickly, big applications that need to page the drive perform better, etc. Across the board excellent boost.

No disappointment

Among somewhat less exotic offerings, I was lucky enough to get sent this item to try and keep, by Amazon. It is currently priced at £78. Solid state drives, which, in case you were wondering, unlike traditional hard drives have no moving mechanical parts, have been decreasing in price of late and I...

v for Very Fast

This is a great little drive, it's very fast reducing load times of everything, and with 120GB it can easily be your boot drive with all your apps added, and maybe 10GB-20GB put aside for work.
