This makes a great drive for building a fast booting computer. Has room enough for Windows, Office, and most applications (but games). Documents, files, pictures will have to find room elsewhere, there's just not enough room for everything.

Fast; really silent

No room for data

perfect upgrade

replaced the old hhd in my laptop and this works amazing. I didn't use the cloning software on the cd because who knows if it's out of date or what not. I just downloaded a free version and BAM was done within 4 hours (gotta realize cloning a drive will take forever no matter what software or ssd...

My best upgrade in a while

A solid state drive is probably the best upgrade you can add to your system should you still have a HDD. As you might expect, Windows loads in a fraction of the time, but apps open more quickly, big applications that need to page the drive perform better, etc. Across the board excellent boost.

Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 120GB review

The 120GB Kingston SSDNow V300 Series internal solid-state drive (SSD) is priced to appeal to ordinary consumers at £75, but it boasts a level of performance that sat at the top of the enthusiast's market not so long ago.

Impressive performance; Great price; Upgrade bundle is also cheap; Three year warranty

Write speeds not as strong

Kingston V300 240GB

Another in the list of SandForce SSDs is the latest from Kingston, the SSDNow V300. It's not entirely different in most regards, but it does have Toshiba Toggle NAND and exclusive input from LSI directly to tweak the controller's performance.

Faster speeds than specification; robust accessory package; competitive price; customized controller by LSI

SandForce 2281 struggles with incompressible data; not fastest SSD on the market

We have in our labs Kingston's latest solid-state drives (SSDs) for PCs and laptops, the SSDNow V300 Series. Designed to replace the existing SSDNow V200 models, the V300 should offer sequential read and write speeds of around 450MB/s - somewhere between five and 10 times faster than a traditional...

No disappointment

Among somewhat less exotic offerings, I was lucky enough to get sent this item to try and keep, by Amazon. It is currently priced at £78. Solid state drives, which, in case you were wondering, unlike traditional hard drives have no moving mechanical parts, have been decreasing in price of late and I...

Bought 1 of these in kit form just to hold steam and some games on. Installed and recognised without any hiccups, has 223GB usable from the box. Considering buying a standalone to use as an external and to make use of the spare case i now have.
