Amazon Kindle Oasis review

Amazon's Kindle range hasn't seen an innovation like the Oasis since 2014, when the Kindle Voyage appeared. Ever since the original Amazon Kindle hit the virtual shelves back in November 2007 the company has managed to refine the design with each passing generation, nipping here and tucking there to...

Amazon Kindle Oasis review

There's no doubt that the Kindle Oasis is technically the best eReader you can get. Amazon has done a great job with the new design which is impressively small, light and ergonomic. The cover is a nice touch too and adds additional battery life to boot.

Amazon Kindle Oasis review: Wonderful e-reader, but at a ridiculous asking price

There are few brands in the world where the product itself becomes a category of sort. When it comes to copying, there's Xerox. When it comes to cola drinks, Coca-Cola stands out. Google is synonymous to search. And when it comes to e-readers, Kindle is the name with the most brand recall.

The Kindle Oasis is our favourite Kindle model so far, despite the lack of adaptive brightness. That slim and light build, along with the battery-packing cover, make this the most desirable eReader we've ever clutched. Unfortunately you'll have to dig deep if you want one.

Slim; smart design; Rammed with features; Great display; Leather cover with extra battery

I love the thing!

A great pick up, although I'm starting to notice slight ink burn as I'm moving from one page to the next. I've had the device for about three weeks now and I've charged it once. Honestly I could've went with the mid-tiered kindle but either way I'm happy with this purchase.

Amazon Kindle Oasis

Every couple of years Amazon introduces a new Kindle e-ink e-reader that's smaller, lighter and faster. But with the arrival of the Kindle Oasis, Amazon's thinnest and lightest e-reader ever, the e-book pioneer needs to add a new adjective to the list: pricier.

The Kindle Oasis is the lightest Kindle yet at 4.6 ounces and is 3.4 mm at its thinnest point; A slim leather battery case is included and adheres magnetically to the device, bumping battery life up to a 9 weeks without WiFi on.

It's pricey; isn't any zippier than the Voyage or Paperwhite; and isn't waterproof

The Kindle Oasis is the best Kindle ever made. But it's way too expensive for most people, especially when cheaper models offer the same sharp display and backlighting.
