I bought the KEF LS50 powered Wireless speakers to accompany the new Cambridge Audio Alva TT turntable which allows high res bluetooth AptX HD audio streaming. The quality and warmth of the sound generated from these speakers is excellent.
There's not much more I can add to all the reviews and awards these speakers have won. What I will say is the sound is stunningly good. The art work of the Nocturne Edition is more intricate than pictures represent. Seeing them at dark and how they glow is fantastic!
Uniquely beautiful Connection options Incredibly powerful Proven performance Universally lauded by reviewers
Not a single one
Audio quality is great coming out of these speakers. I won't get into detail and review the sound since so many others have done so already. My only gripe about these speakers (Piano black) is that there are fine scratches and hazing right out of the box.
The LS50 Wireless speaker system packs big sound-along with plenty of technology and cool style-in a little box. And yes, this Nocturne edition brings extra fun to late-night listening in a dark room. Day or night, it's been a delight to have around.
The KEF LS50 Wireless speakers are way more than your average bookshelf speakers. It's a hi-fi speaker system that's primed for audiophiles.
I've made no secret that I'm a huge fan of KEF speakers. To me, their UniQ driver offers superb clarity with treble and midrange, as instruments and voices originate from a single point.
Fantastic sound quality and build quality; support for all the essential inputs and streaming services you need; easy setup and integration into a home without extra boxes
Not as easy to integrate into a living room system as a Sonos Playbar would be
KEF celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2011. As part of that anniversary, KEF released the LS50 in 2012, a compact reference monitor that promptly set the world on fire. Still in production, the LS50 quickly achieved a cult-like following due to its enormous value proposition.
The LS50 Wireless is an active stereo speaker system, offering all the plug-and-play convenience of a Bluetooth speaker alongside the high-end audio capabilities of proper hi-fi separates.
Outstanding sound; Great choice of inputs; Easy and flexible to set up and use; Neat design
App isn't as responsive as it could be; Can't control physical inputs via the app
Although primarily a hi-fi brand, KEF have strong links to some classic monitor designs - and in this new compact speaker, it shows...
