Jabra Elite 85h

Jabra headphones have a reputation as phones you wear while doing something energetic, rather than phones that deliver premium audio quality.  Jabra Elite 85H headphones might change that perception.

Better sound through SmartSound

Jabra describes their SmartSound technology as an "adaptive audio experience", and this feature accounts for the enhanced sound in Elite 85H headphones. SmartSound automatically analyses your sound environment, be it in public, in private, or during a commute, and applies the right settings to give you a deeply satisfying music experience.

Clear as crystal

Customised music settings let you hear the sort of sound you want to hear, while enhanced music clarity and purpose-built speakers deliver your preferred audio better than ever before.

Awesome battery power

On-going battery life is essential in any mobile device, and in Jabra Elite 85H headphones you get up to 32 hours of battery power on a single charge...more than enough!

A big NO to noise

Smart Active Noise Cancellation automatically turns itself on when background sounds threaten to impede on your listening experience or your enjoyment of the quiet life.

The Jabra Sound+ app

Use this app to access SmartSound and other features, select your preferred voice assistant, customise music profiles, modify how much noise you want to block out and much more. Plus, your headphones will maintain optimum performance with the visual in-app indicator to track battery usage, while you can install software and device updates directly in the app, without having to plug your headphones into your computer.

Utterly love these. I have always tended to use ear-buds so this was a change more me. And a welcome one. The sound quality and the features are excellent, I just love the fact they react to you taking them off to "pause" and if you make full use of the available features and take time to do the...

Jabra Elite 85H: Stylish and functional, but overpriced

The Elite 85H represent a commendable attempt to dethrone Bose and Sony. The Danish company has come out with a stylish contender that's packed with features and offers excellent call and recording quality.

Excellent battery life; Convenient auto-pause technology; Stylish

Performance doesn't match the Sony WH-1000XM3; Not as comfortable as the Bose QC35; Expensive

Jabra Elite 85h

The Jabra Elite 85h headphones deliver a powerful sonic experience and strong ANC in an exceptionally comfortable design. The ANC does affect the audio performance, which is a minor drawback, but it's not wildly different-the ANC mode seems to provide more low-frequency depth.

Powerful audio performance with deep bass and bright highs; Exceptionally comfortable; Excellent app features adjustable EQ and ANC settings

Expensive; ANC can alter sound signature slightly; Weak Alexa integration; On-ear controls could be better implemented

Jabra Elite 85h review: Good noise-cancelling headphones that come with a hint of greatness

There's a skeleton of a brilliant product here, I just wish Jabra took a little more time to flesh it out rather than settle for good.

SmartSound is a cool idea; Cozy feel-factor; Solid ANC

SmartSound feels like it doesn't live up to potential; Price; Durability of the fabric feels like an unknown

Jabra Elite 85h

Not to let Sony and Bose continue to dominate the active noise cancelling market, Jabra joined in with their own version of smart noise cancelling technology which they developed over the years. Jabra has been in the audio communications market since 1983, developing communication headsets…

Excellent audio quality: Treble transparent and detailed yet not pushy; bass feel yet not overpowering; HearThrough sounds natural; Exceptional battery life of 36 hours with ANC; Above average ANC performance

ANC does not beat Sony and Bose for buyers looking for one, Headphones does not work in passive mode, i.e; when there is no power, Detectable noise floor and compression artifacts, not for sharp ears

The Jabra Elite 85h ANC headphones are subtly designed and hide some seriously smart features, such as automatically pausing playback when removed, as well as having a dedicated button to call for a digital assistant.

Reliable ANC; Great battery life; Modern design; Comfortable; Fantastic call quality; Water and dust resistant; Moderately priced; Unique smart features

Audio quality falls behind competition; Plastic build; Could be tight on large heads

Jabra Elite 85h Review

Jabra's Elite headphone lineup comes in a number of different form factors and has given us several hits in the past. At $299.99, the Elite 85h is one of the pricier pairs available, but the good news is that it delivers on all fronts, from effective noise cancellation, to a powerful audio experience. Throw in a well-designed app that features user-adjustable EQ and ANC settings, and you have a compelling product that may not offer better ANC than the Bose QuietComfort 35 II, but comes close, and offers a more robust, dynamic audio experience. Design The circumaural (over-the-ear) Elite 85h headphones are available in black, beige, or blue, with matte plastic surfaces that are paired with cloth-covered panels for a modern, understated look. The earpads and headband are among the most comfortable we've tried—there's generous memory foam padding for the ears and head, and the feel is luxurious. There's a degree of water and dust protection, but not much—an IP52 rating means solid du...
