The JBL Xtreme 3 is bigger and more powerful than any other entry on this list. It weighs well over 4 pounds (almost 2 more than the Sony SRS-XB33), but the thunderous sound it offers make the extra bulk worth dealing with. You can order the product in black, blue, or with a camouflage pattern.

It's still not be the prettiest speaker ever, but JBL's portable - literally, there's a clip on shoulder strap - is fully dust- and water-resistant this time around. But, most important of all, despite still not delivering 360-degree sound output, is that there's lots of volume, crisp output, and oodles of bass. Great for the great outdoors.
