You have smart speakers. You have tablets. For those looking for something that offers a little bit of this and a little bit of that, you have smart displays. These are essentially a smart speaker but one which comes with a display to accommodate a limited number of features.

The JBL Link View is the Google Smart Display with the best audio quality, at least for now. With two front-facing 10 watt speakers and a rear passive radiator, the Link View goes especially well with bass-heavy tracks. Yet, the display and design pales in comparison to the Lenovo Smart Display.

Had it for about 2 months and it's been pretty flawless in that time. The sound quality for music is great for the kitchen, better than the original Google Home or the Home Hub.

It's almost too loud, in fact, but that's maybe a good problem to have. You also get a camera for video calls. Google's software still needs some work, but that's the case on rival smart displays with the firm's Assistant.

The JBL Link View is worth the price if you want a capable kitchen helper that can blast your music while you work.

The was on my radar for a while. I know JBL will try to pack in sound along with the display. We reviewed the , which also works with Google Assistant, a few months ago and the Link View takes it a step further with the display.
