Does JBL's Everest Elite 750NC top Bose's best?

As far as wireless noise-canceling headphones go, Bose's QuietComfort 35 sits on top of our top products list, with Sony's MDR-1000X nipping at its heels. So how does JBL's next-generation Bluetooth noise-canceling headphone, the Everest Elite 750NC, stack up against those guys?

JBL's next-gen wireless noise-cancelling headphone is a step up in design, comfort level and sound, but it faces stiff competition.

JBL Everest Elite 750NC over-ear noise cancelling headphones review

The JBL Everest Elite 750NC headphones are quite good, but they're a little unruly. They're well-designed and quite comfortable, but the sound is very hit and miss when ANC is activated.

JBL Everest Elite 750NC

If you're looking for the best in wireless noise cancellation, the aforementioned Bose QuietComfort 35 headphones-and their in-ear sibling, the Bose QuietControl 30 -are the the best we've tested. We're also fans of the AKG N60 NC Wireless and the Libratone Q Adapt On-Ear .

Powerful audio performance capable of intense bass response; Includes app with adjustable EQ and noise cancellation controls; Attractive design

Mediocre noise cancellation; NC has tremendous impact on audio performance; Can distort on deep bass tracks with NC enabled

A couple years ago, I declared the JBL Everest Elite 700 the best alternative to the pricier, trickier Beats . They sound great, cost less, and even look a heck of a lot like the Beats Studio Wireless.

Terrific noise cancelling you can adjust through an app

Weak on mid- and high-range notes

JBL Everest Elite 750NC Review

Noise cancellation and Bluetooth headphones don't often mix. Bose changed the game with its excellent QuietComfort 35 headphones last year, and competitors have been trying to play catch up ever since. JBL's Everest Elite 750NC headphones, at $299.95, cost a bit less than the Bose model and deliver powerful bass response that can be adjusted using an app. But while the headphones are capable of delivering solid audio performance, the noise cancellation itself isn't very good, and has a major impact on sound quality. Design Available in steel blue, gunmetal gray, or silver, all of the circumaural (over-the-ear) Everest Elite 750NC models have a metallic, two-tone quality. It's a striking look, particularly the steel blue, and it's nice to see an audio company experimenting a little with textures and finishes. Even the surface of the leatherette earpads have an interesting sheen to them, while the memory foam padding inside is exceptionally comfortable, as is the padding on the unde...

The JBL Everest Elite 750NC headphones combine wireless audio with noise cancellation, but the latter has a dramatic effect on sound quality.

JBL Everest Elite 750NC Headphones Review: Comfort Meets Great Sound

Should you buy the JBL Everest Elite 750NC It simply comes down to the price. If $300 is a price that you would normally pay for a pair of premium headphones, then the JBL Everest Elite 750NC are easily worth a recommendation.

JBL Everest Elite 750NC Bluetooth Headphones

Last year, we reviewed the JBL Everest Elite 700, the company's top-of-the-line consumer headphone. Though we liked the look of that device, we had trouble getting its functions to work correctly and didn't like the sound.…
