Infamous: Second Son carries a heavy burden of expectation as the newest PlayStation 4 exclusive, but it is a superhero adventure that isn’t adventurous enough, says Tom Hoggins

Second Son is a departure in tone for the Infamous series, but its superpowered action lives up to expectations.

Infamous: Second Son is the first real reason to jump completely into the next-generation of consoles. If you wanted to show someone what next-gen can do, this is the game to show them, with great image quality and amazing lighting/particle effects on display.

Despite all of that fear and hatred, InFamous: Second Son is still a game about finding freedom by figuring out who you are. The rapid expansion of Delsin’s powers is constantly engaging, and there’s no reason to believe there couldn’t be more released later on as downloadable content.
