Founded in 1997, Sucker Punch Productions began life as a Nintendo 64 supporter, with Rocket: Robot on Wheels , released in 1999. InFamous has always been an empowering series, allowing you to wreak havoc with your electricity based powers, but InFamous: Second Son takes this further still with new hero Delsin Rowe, who, with his full capabilities, makes previous protagonist Cole McGrath look weak in comparison, and this leap...
I’ve only played through the good karma story of Delsin, but I’m definitely replaying Second Son again on the evil side to see how different the evil powers affect gameplay. Infamous: Second Son continues Sucker Punch's super hero/karmic choice formula well. While areas like enemies and missions show a lack of variety, the grounded story melds well enough with the amazing powers and “next gen” visuals to form a very solid experience from beginning to end.
It is surprising how fully realized Infamous: Second Son is so early in the PlayStation 4’s life cycle. It cracks the code on what makes Infamous interesting as a series. Sucker Punch finally made a sandbox game with super powers as fun and dynamic as it should be.
Infamous: Second Son is the first real reason to jump completely into the next-generation of consoles. If you wanted to show someone what next-gen can do, this is the game to show them, with great image quality and amazing lighting/particle effects on display.
