Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition review

Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition is the best way to play the game, and is a good fit on the Switch. That said, this one's definitely for newcomers rather than returning players, and the frame rate can still play up in moments where's there's just a bit too much going on.

A wonderful celebration of the Zelda series; Gameplay is satisfying enough; Music is excellent; A lot of content to work through for those willing to grind

Warriors repetition is going to divide players; No new content added for this release; Frame rate still chugs at times

"Enjoyable"

Enjoyable if a bit repetitive. Would like more variance of the missions to keep it fresh. Storyline is not bad and the mechanics and controls are very good.

Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition review – a Linkle to the past

Zelda may have inspired one of the best Dynasty Warriors games to date but the end result is still well below average by any other standard.

Slightly more complex combat than usual for a Dynasty Warriors game; Playing as other characters is fun for a short while; Co-op options for all modes

Instantly repetitive and horribly shallow gameplay that has very little in common with a real Zelda title; Terrible artificial intelligence and graphics; Short, poorly scripted story campaign

"If you're a fan of Zelda, you'll find tons to love in this game." © 2018 Nintendo, Omega Force, Team Ninja, Koei Tecmo. All rights reserved.

Facing "captains" resembles classic Zelda combat; plenty of Zelda references for your enjoyment; wide selection of unique characters to play as; extra side stories help beef up the otherwise shallow story; great remixes of some of the best Zelda music

Controls show their age; letting AI handle your playable teammates doesn't work well; infuriating mission multitasking; lack of voice acting makes it hard to follow battle missions

Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition - Nintendo Switch

It was really great. The 4 stars is because level 1-2 were easy, and then all of a sudden level 3 got really hard.

Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition follows the trend of Wii U games resurfacing on the Nintendo Switch. The new version combines nearly every element of the original Zelda -themed hack-and-slash game Hyrule Warriors and its updated 3DS port Hyrule Warriors Legends , creating a complete package and...

Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition Review

With Hyrule Warriors, this was the first time that I gave more than a passing glance or two to the Dynasty Warriors-like formula. Beyond the obvious melee whacking of 50 enemies at once, it was great to experience the feeling of fighting in a large-scale war and little skirmishes across a...

A different way to play in Hyrule

If you're looking for an old school, classic Zelda game, or even a continuation of BOTW, this will not scratch that itch. Hyrule Warriors is a themed take off of Dynasty Warriors, a classic hack and slash/hero/battlefield command game.
