For those unfamiliar with the Hyperdimension Neptunia games, the basic premise is an interesting one. A turn based RPG set in a universe meant as a commentary on the games industry (the world is even called ‘Gamindustri' with place names such as ‘Lastation'), it's a series dripping with potential.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory is one of those games that has to fight an uphill battle with every preconceived notion its boxart of a scantily clad anime girl and pedigree as an obscure JRPG series brings to mind.

You've gotta give the folks at Compile Heart and Idea Factory credit- each installment in this series is a massive improvement over the previous one. The first was hot garbage, the second was mediocre, and this one is actually fairly decent.
