Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory: review

For those unfamiliar with the Hyperdimension Neptunia games, the basic premise is an interesting one. A turn based RPG set in a universe meant as a commentary on the games industry (the world is even called ‘Gamindustri' with place names such as ‘Lastation'), it's a series dripping with potential.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory is one of those games that has to fight an uphill battle with every preconceived notion its boxart of a scantily clad anime girl and pedigree as an obscure JRPG series brings to mind.

The Best JRPG of This Generation, Sadly Enough

You've gotta give the folks at Compile Heart and Idea Factory credit- each installment in this series is a massive improvement over the previous one. The first was hot garbage, the second was mediocre, and this one is actually fairly decent.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory Review (PS3)

If I wanted hours of awkward text I'd read a steamy novel.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory review

The trio of goddesses in the Hyperdimension Neptunia series represent Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft products, all vying for dominion over the world of Gamindustri. It's an exciting (albeit contrived) setup for a quirky JRPG, with plenty of moe female characters in skintight outfits, mixed with an...

Plenty of quests to do; Cheery visuals and anime aesthetic; Some intriguing combat animations

Bland combat and errands to run; Extraneous; bloated dialogue in areas; Plodding narrative

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory review (PS3)

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory is the third game in the Hyperdimension Neptunia series from Compile Heart. Like its predecessors, the new installment takes place in the world of Gamindustri. As the name suggests, Gamindustri parodies the real gaming industry that we know and love.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory (PS3) - Review

Those crazy personified console girls are back but this time around it's time for some time travel. Technically it's a parallel universe but consider for a moment that you're in a world where Lowee (Nintendo) is the only nation and the Planeptune (Sega), Lastation (Sony), and Leanbox (Microsoft)...

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory is a comedic and almost teenage-like anime RPG with a touch of T&A for the PlayStation 3 that unfortunately suffers from dated graphics and gameplay.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory: Victorious Return To Gamindustri

Another day, another review and another video game sequel. With the current console generation dwindling to a close it really feels like developers are playing things safe by releasing follow-ups to established intellectual properties.

Funny video game themed jokes; many hours of content for JRPG grinding junkies

The English language version is missing a lot of voice - overs; frustrating difficulty spikes

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory is the third PlayStation 3 installment in a series of RPGs that are jointly developed by Idea Factory and Compile Heart. Those particular two companies don't produce a lot of games that appeal to North American audiences in the traditional way that a Squaresoft or an...
