Huawei Watch GT2 Pro Nebula Gray VIDAR-B19V review

There's no doubt the Huawei Watch GT2 Pro is a superbly made, premium smartwatch, building on the solid fitness and health features of its predecessors. However, we loved the Huawei Watch GT2e as a budget device, so offering this experience at double the price is harder to recommend.

Lovely premium build; Strong feature set; Two strap options in the box

Huawei Watch GT2 Pro Nebula Gray VIDAR-B19V review

Apple has launched its next-generation Apple Watch and this year we got to enjoy two separate models for the first time - the Apple Watch Series 6 and the SE. Every time Apple launches a new gadget, things get tough for other manufacturers.

Huawei Watch GT2 Pro Nebula Gray VIDAR-B19V review

The Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro looks nice, is well built and does the tracking it offers well. The excellent battery life is just the icing on the cake. There are a couple of gaps that need filling, notably NFC payments, but this is an excellent choice if constant charging is putting you off investing in...

Excellent battery life; Competant tracking; Versatile wireless charging; High-quality material choice

No mobile payments; Can be sluggish

Huawei Watch GT2 Pro Nebula Gray VIDAR-B19V review

One year on the from original, the underlying internals are a little tired, but the GT 2 Pro is a great-looking wearable with a premium design and some useful features, provided you're willing to pay for all that titanium, ceramic and sapphire glass.

Most refined GT 2 entry yet; Extensive activity tracking; Premium materials; Good display

Pricey considering performance; Poor third-party app support; Ageing internals

Huawei Watch GT2 Pro Nebula Gray VIDAR-B19V review

A sleek smartwatch that works well across both sports and every day environments

Great battery life; Sleek design; Tracks every sport imaginable; Light and strong yet comfortable

Screen not super responsive; Still lacking third-party app support

Huawei Watch GT2 Pro Nebula Gray VIDAR-B19V review

Huawei's new watch adds titanium, sapphire glass, ceramic, and wireless charging. But it's not as new as that might suggest....

2-week battery life High-end build materials Wireless charging Quality fitness tracking Classic design

Huawei-only advanced features Limited third-party app support Pretty lean smartwatch features Year-old internals Pretty expensive

Huawei Watch GT2 Pro Nebula Gray VIDAR-B19V review

For those who want a smart sports watch that tracks all the sessions they could wish for, with good levels of data and an indefatigable battery life, this Huawei is an ideal option. And given the materials used in its build and the craftsmanship in design, it's rather good value for money too.

Luxury materials; Sleek and lightweight; Lots of fitness and activity tracking modes; Updated heart-rate sensor; Long battery life

Bright OLED is still low refresh rate; Notification system quite basic; No support for third-party music; No contactless payment services; Struggles with HIIT workouts

Huawei Watch GT2 Pro Nebula Gray VIDAR-B19V review

Do bear in mind that the Huawei Watch GT2 Pro is a smartwatch first, and a fitness tracker second. Anyone who is on the lookout for accurate tracking while doing all kinds of sporting activities would do well to purchase a device that supports a chest strap and give this a miss.

Beautiful design; Quality build; Long battery life; Qi wireless charging supported

Does not track blood oxygen levels automatically; No always-on capability; Limited watch faces; Expensive

Huawei GT 2 Pro review

The GT 2 Pro does have a few pain points, namely it’s ever-so slightly sluggish touch-screen and lack of third-party apps, but all-in-all it’s a well-performing smartwatch, which we expect at that price. It has the looks, it has all the activity tracking you’d ever need and it has the versatility to be used in multiple situations. But best of all, it has an amazing battery life. A good all-rounder for those who are looking for a decent smartwatch and general health monitor but aren’t too serious about fitness-tracking.

Great battery life; Sleek design ; Tracks every sport imaginable ; Light and strong yet comfortable;

Screen not super responsive; Still lacking third-party app support;

Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro review

Huawei keeps adding to its Watch GT line with mini but meaningful updates. The latest refresh sees seriously premium design combined with wireless charging and the smoothest software experience in the series to date. It isn’t perfect - the GT 2 Pro doesn’t support third-party apps; nor is it buttery smooth all the time, however, with improved iOS compatibility, a comprehensive set of exercises and accurate tracking, we’re happy to see a mediocre line of products flourish into something great.

Seriously premium design; 10-14 day battery life; Convenient Qi wireless charging;

No third-party app support; Notifications aren’t interactive; Limited smarts
