Huawei Watch 2 Review: The Fitness-Tracking Smartwatch You Don't Need
The Huawei Watch 2 is yet another smartwatch you probably won't buy. As smartwatches go, it's not bad; it has some good fitness features, like an accurate GPS and a heart rate monitor, and it has a long battery life.- Small charger
- Good battery life
- Always-on display
- Humdrum design
- Mediocre apps
- No LTE support for the U.S version
Huawei Watch 2 review: a fitness focus that falls flat
The original Huawei Watch was one of my surprise favorites. It didn't have an overabundance of features, but it ran Android Wear nicely and it looked good doing it. With the new $299.99 Huawei Watch 2, the company pivoted hard.- Very accurate heart rate monitor that works 24/7
- Built-in GPS means you can run without your phone
- It's not as bulky as sportier watches like the LG Watch Sport or the Garmin Fenix 5X
- Watch's speaker produces surprisingly good audio quality
- The screen is so small it makes text very hard to read
- especially while moving
- Battery struggles to last 24 hours
- Not particularly attractive
- Plagued with lag
- crashes
- and random bugs
Huawei Watch 2 review
The Huawei Watch 2 is the sort of watch we should probably have seen a year after Android Wear appeared, not three years. But that’s a knock on Google as much as Huawei. It’s not as pretty as the original Huawei Watch or the LG Watch Style, and that matters when any watch choice is a style choice. It has an awful lot of features, including GPS, NFC and an HR sensor. But some of them don’t work as well as they should. GPS reliability is the stinger, with tracking fidelity much worse than that of a good phone. Or, this watch’s most important rival, the Apple Watch 2. Flaky GPS and heart rate readings aside, the Watch 2 has the basics down, including decent battery life, a sharp screen and as solid performance as can be expected from a smartwatch. Now you just have to ask yourself whether that’s worth £300 of your cash.- One of the longer-lasting Wear watches
- Packed full of features
- Boring design lets down high-quality build
- Sketchy on-watch GPS
- Not swim-ready
- Expensive

Huawei Watch 2 review
Imagine Huawei would have just revamped its simple, but slick, original Wear watch. Imagine an original Huawei Watch with Android Wear 2.0 out of the box, packing NFC for Android Pay, GPS for run tracking and a better battery life. That's what we wanted from the Huawei Watch 2.- Packed full of sensors
- Battery life is impressive
- Android Wear 2.0 out of the box
- Plenty of fitness/tracking data
- Loses the charm of the original
- Fiddly to use
- Build quality feels a bit cheap
- Questionable heart rate data

- Performance can be sluggish
- Design less premium than predecessor
Huawei Watch 2 review: A smartwatch that's big on fitness, and also just big
The Huawei Watch 2 definitely has its pros and cons, and it's going to come down to what you really want from a smartwatch.
Huawei Watch 2 Ushers In Android Wear 2.0 (Review and Giveaway)
At almost $300, Huawei's Watch 2 is one of the more expensive Android Wear devices. Despite that, its IP68 water resistance, astounding battery life, and feature-packed design make it easy to see past its few flaws.
Huawei Watch 2
The Huawei Watch 2 is the follow-up to 2015's , and one of the first smartwatches to launch with . Taking a leaf out of LG's book, the Watch 2 is available in two models. - Android Wear 2.0 is a big improvement
- Plenty of sports sensors
- NFC and Android Pay convenience
- Small display
- Thick bezels
- Uninspiring design
