Huawei P8 Lite Review
It's a shame that Huawei is a bit of an unknown entity in the United States, because the Chinese device maker consistently releases great-looking hardware that performs just as well as that of its American competitors.
Pros:
- Sleek
- clean-looking build
- Edge-to-edge display looks great
- Solid battery life
Cons:
- Huawei's Emotion UI is terrible
- Specs
- while still decent
- are frustratingly lower than larger model

Huawei P8 review: stellar design and a top-notch camera give this Chinese smartphone some serious punch
If you want an iPhone 6 without the exorbitant pricetag, the Huawei P8 is absolutely the phone for you; squint, and you might not even know the difference. It's not quite the best, but there's a lot to love, and it's safe to say that Android might just have a new member in the Big Boys Club with...
Pros:
- Excellent design
- Spectacular camera
- Very capable display
Cons:
- 'Knuckle Sense' sometimes interferes with touch controls
- Could be a little cheaper

The Huawei P8 is this year's top-flight handset from the Chinese manufacturer, packing in a premium design that can rival the iPhone 6 but all for a relatively affordable price. Can it keep up with the rest of the flagship pack though? We fired one up to find out.
Pros:
- Huawei has been in the tech game for a long while, but it's only recently started to really focus on high-end smartphones
- Last year's Ascend P7 was a pleasant surprise that packed in solid hardware, but was let down by its software, and that seems to be the case again.
Cons:
- Huawei's loaded the P8 with Android 5.0 Lollipop along with its own Emotion UI tweaks
- and while the base layer of Android sometimes shimmers through
- it's difficult to really get on with Huawei's tweaks.

Huawei P8 review
Huawei's P8 is a brilliant piece of hardware that's let down by its software. The raw specs and camera skills make for a captivating handset that looks the business and doesn't cost the earth at €499 (£357), but Huawei's Emotion UI lets it down in many ways.

Huawei P8 review
Chinese technology heavyweight Huawei has been attempting to replicate its success in telecoms hardware in the smartphone market for several years. The firm started this offensive by releasing a wave of ultra-affordable smartphones with specifications traditionally seen only on handsets close to...
Pros:
- Premium design
- decent display
- good camera
- moderate price
Cons:
- Emotion UI makes needless and confusing changes to Android

Huawei P8 review
Huawei is getting serious with the P8, delivering some high-end specifications at a mid-range price. Breaking away from its Ascend series, Huawei has gone for a plainer moniker with the P8 but the design is anything but.
Pros:
- Beautiful screen
- powerful processor
- fine build quality
- good camera
- fingerprint sensor
- 4G
- decent battery life
Cons:
- Camera autofocus could be a little quicker

Huawei P8 Lite (Unlocked) Review
The Huawei P8 Lite is a classy, well-equipped Android smartphone and an outstanding value, but competition on the unlocked market is fierce. The P8 Lite is to the Huawei P8 what Apple's iPhone 5c was to the iPhone 5s ( at Amazon) . The core experiences are largely comparable, with some performance concessions and design tweaks in the name of affordability. Unlike its fancier sibling, the P8 Lite is fully banded for U.S. use, and it's available for just $249.99 unlocked. It's a tremendous smartphone value and an especially alluring option for Android fans that prefer the iOS aesthetic. But competition on the unlocked phone market is fierce, and the Alcatel One Touch Idol 3 ($249.99 at Amazon) remains our Editors' Choice thanks to its beautiful display and better camera output. Design, Features, and Call Quality Without reference, you'd be hard-pressed to tell the P8 Lite apart from the P8 ( at Amazon) . It ditches the metal and glass accents for an all-plastic construction, but the faux-brushed aluminum look is quite convincing at first blush. At 5.62 by 2.77 by 0.30 inches (HWD) and 4.62 ounces, it's also a slightly...
Pros:
- Thin, light, and solid build
- Attractive
- Affordable
Cons:
- Heavy-handed Android skin
- Disappointing camera performance

Huawei P8 Lite (2015) review
From the iPhone to a $20 Nokia, every smartphone is made in China. Motorola attempted to bring manufacturing back to the US with the launch of the original Moto X, but that ended up only lasting a year.

Huawei P8
You may not have heard of Huawei (that's ‘hwah-way', not Hawaii), but you've probably crossed paths before. The Chinese firm is actually the world's largest telecommunications company, having overtaken Sweden's Ericsson in 2012.
Pros:
- Vibrant colours
- Supports hi-res audio
- Strong camera
- Good build
Cons:
- Picture needs stronger contrast
- Sound needs more refinement
