Not bad

Over all, this is a good budget phone. Disappointed 4.4.4 out of box and no NFC.
Pros:
  • low price, no bloatware, light weight
  • Budget phone with 2gb RAM, 16gb (10gb usable), Micro SD slot support up to 32 gb
Cons:
  • Android 4.4.4 out of box, not 5.02
  • NO NFC
  • Only 720 resolution, but it is clear to read email and web

Huawei P8 Lite Review

It's a shame that Huawei is a bit of an unknown entity in the United States, because the Chinese device maker consistently releases great-looking hardware that performs just as well as that of its American competitors.
Pros:
  • Sleek
  • clean-looking build
  • Edge-to-edge display looks great
  • Solid battery life
Cons:
  • Huawei's Emotion UI is terrible
  • Specs
  • while still decent
  • are frustratingly lower than larger model

Brave new Budget Phone

OK. I was looking for a bargain and at the equivalent of 200 quid or so, this new handset promised to be it. And the design was highly attractive. A nice, clean candy bar. I was shown a white one by the helpful assistent. The packaging is compact and pleasing too.

Huawei P8 Lite Review

While the P8 Lite has a lot of things going for it – namely, its attractive build and beautiful edge-to-edge display – it's somewhat difficult to recommend it due to its very poorly-implemented Emotion UI.

Huawei P8 Lite Review: A Budget Phone With Some Non-Budget Features

Huawei isn't necessarily a household name in the US smartphone environment quite yet. They've been making a stronger push to get into the US market recently, but they've been a leader in the Global market for some time, as their #3 global ranking in smartphone shipments can attest.
Pros:
  • Huawei's Emotion UI isn't obtrusive, provides some nice customization options for an older version of Android
  • Good price
  • Nice camera options
Cons:
  • I had some issues with reception
  • and a bump up in display on this phone would be great

Huawei P8 lite Smartphone Review

Shortly after the flagship device from Huawei, the P8, we now get the smaller sibling with the addition "lite," which sounds like a slimmed-down version. Not only is the price reduced but also the battery runtime.
Pros:
  • Dual-SIM feature with LTE
  • very good voice quality
  • microSD slot
  • NFC and Bluetooth
  • strong WLAN performance
  • smooth operation
  • design and quality impression
  • decent display
  • good pictures
  • but..
Cons:
  • video compression too high
  • inaccurate GPS
  • below-average battery runtime
  • display could be brighter
  • headset sound is average
  • only 2.4 GHz WiFi
  • battery integrated

Review: Huawei P8

L ast year, Huawei's Ascend P7 smartphone impressed us with its slimline good looks and top-quality camera – but it was undermined by sluggish performance and an over-fussy UI. This year, the company aims to improve on that with its new flagship.

Style on a budget

Every way you look at it, the Huawei P8lite is without a doubt a gorgeous device. It has managed to capture the style of its premium sibling and has brought it over to the mid-range market where refined design is significantly harder to come by.

The Huawei P8 is a good option at its asking price, although it falls ever so short of being an entirely "premium" experience. I was notably taken with Huawei's flagship 2014 phone, the late-arriving Huawei Ascend Mate 7 .

The Clone Wars continue: Huawei's iPhone-like P8 reviewed

Huawei's P series has always been about the best of the best without you needing to sell a kidney, so can this year's model fight the threat that is the iPhone, or is it just a poor cousin?
Pros:
  • Comfortable to hold
  • Well built
  • Fairly fast
  • Free screen repair (for one time) if you break the phone's display
Cons:
  • Storage amount could be larger
  • Mediocre battery (standard for a flagship
  • though
  • No 802.11ac despite the phone being flagship
  • Huawei's take on Android may not be ideal for all
  • Included screen replacement cost feels like a bit of a useless feature if you never break your screen
