Huawei MediaPad T5 (10.1-inch, LTE) Tablet Review

During our tests, the MediaPad T5 presented itself as a high-performance tablet well suited for most day-to-day requirements, be that surfing the web or playing games. Thanks to its 10-inch display, it managed to remain fairly portable and manageable.

decent system performance; handy size; support for GSM; 3G; and LTE networks; preloaded apps can be easily uninstalled

no Quick Charge; mediocre cameras; apps cannot be moved to SD; high power consumption; power supply too weak; no ambient light sensor

Faster and better battery life than my previous

After dropping my last tablet I bought the Huawei media pad. At first it seemed faultless. Brilliant screen colour and brightness. Very fast processor compared to my previous one. The battery life is a lot better aswel but new models do seem to be. Only time will tell. All in all very happy with it

Nice tablet but ...

Great unit, especially for the price. But it needs to be spelt out that users cannot move apps to SC cards to free up internal storage. Huawei has removed that option in its version of the android operating system.

Disappointed

Very satisfied with the tablet itself. Unfortunately, very disappointed with the pricing policy. The price I paid on offer on 3 July 2020 was $285 but now barely a month it has reduced to $249. It sucks!!

Great pad for value

This is a great pad, very clear and easy to use and set up. If you have a huawei mobile this will be very familiar to users. There are a couple of odd things about it though in terms of layout. The camera is on the side of the pad and not in the top where most pads have them and the volume and power button are awkwardly on the bottom of the pad when held up like an A4 piece of paper. As mine is in a case, it does not affect it. The camera is clear and display is crisp. Battery time is good too with two days of use after watching videos and playing games. Highly recommended.

One small design fault in an otherwise excellent tablet.

The tablet works very well - the battery life is certainly much better than my previous tablet. One minor beef, there are some sites that will not auto-rotate eg AliExpress, NZMet and others. The on/off button when the tablet is held vertically is then on the bottom, where they are very easy to accidentally press. Then you have to relog in with your pin which is a pain. For that reason, next time I will try to avoid that positioning. Otherwise I am very well pleased.
