The Mate 20 Pro is Huawei's contribution to the top-end of the smartphone market, and it more than holds its own in very esteemed company.

A work of art

Huawei describe the Mate 20 Pro as "a forged masterpiece of 3D glass with smooth curves and seams that dissolve into the design. A streamlined symphony in the palm of your hand." In other words, it looks great! The slim design also means that it feels comfortable in your hand as well.

World-first technology

The Mate 20 Pro boasts the world's first 7nm mobile AI chipset in the form of the Kirin 980. This lifts speed and power efficiency to a level well above many other smartphones occupying this space in the market.

Fantastic for photographers

The new Leica Triple Camera is powered by AI, which gives you performance and features you can only dream of. The 40 MP main RGB lens captures amazing detail in everyday shots and the 8 MP telephoto lens gets you up close when taking long distance shots. Meanwhile, the new 20 MP Leica Ultra Wide Angle Lens comfortably captures everything you need it to in landscape photos and macro shots.

Rough and tumble

For all its beauty, the Mate Pro 20 is not a fragile device. The IP68 rated water and dust resistance means you can take the phone pretty much anywhere you want to go.

More life from your battery

The larger 4200 mAh battery, with AI power management, gives you more ON time and less down time, while the 40 W2 Huawei SuperCharge lets you charge the Mate 20 Pro up to 70% in just 30 minutes.

  • Terrific screen
  • Brilliant photo captures
  • Lovely screen
  • Long battery life
Cons:
  • Expensive
  • No headphone jack

Huawei Mate 20 Pro Review – Taking The Game To New Heights

Last year was the year of change for most leading smartphone manufacturers, offering massive overhauls to their flagship devices. With that in mind, as well as the fact that CPU performances are trending toward equal footing, I predicted it would come down to either features or services in 2018.
Pros:
  • Great new design
  • Good performance
  • Good screen
  • In-screen fingerprint sensor
  • Feature-packed
  • Improved camera
Cons:
  • No headphone jack

Most Impressive Smartphone of 2018, period! No exassuration!

I am a mobile app programmer, and have dozens of both Android and iOS devices out of necessity. As I have been doing this for some time (since 2011), I am quite jaded when it comes to smartphones and for the last several years, have not been at all excited about new flagship smartphones that have...

Please be aware of the green bleeding screen issues affecting a number of these phones. The phone I recived seems to have this issue and developed after 4 days of use. There is no official response from Huawei yet! This is not great considering it is a £900 phone!!

Huawei Mate 20 Pro review: An elite phone with the looks to match

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro's impressive list of features puts it unquestionably among the top phones of the year. Shame you can't buy it in the US. "What did you think of it?"
Pros:
  • The Huawei Mate 20 Pro goes above and beyond with exciting new features and an eye-catching design.
Cons:
  • You can't use microSD cards to expand the storage. The main loudspeaker hidden in the charging port is muffled when you plug the phone in.

Buyer beware

I bought this phone based on online reviews and the fetaures of this phone. I had 2 weeks of use of the phone without issue and find the phone normally a fantastic device. However, the manufacturer uses 2 different outsourced companies to create the displays, (a chinese company called BOE and LG)...
