House of Marley Liberate Air Review

House of Marley’s Liberate Air are an environmentally conscious pair of true wireless earbuds at a well-judged price. While they're by no means flawless, they sound good and it would be difficult to find a pair of sustainable true wireless earphones at this price point.

Affordable; Sustainably made; Long battery life;

Bass is overpowering; Touch controls feel compromised in mono mode;

House of Marley Liberate Air Review

House of Marley joins the true wireless earphone realm with the Liberate Air, an eco-friendly pair made with recycled and sustainable materials. Bamboo accents help the earpieces stand out from the crowd a bit, and bass lovers will enjoy the boosted and sculpted sound signature. That said, for $149.99, the on-ear controls can be less than responsive, and the pairing process is a bit of a mess. If you like the look, and are after a bass-forward listening experience, the audio here is strong enough to overcome some of the missteps. Design The Liberate Air earpieces have a familiar, bulky true wireless shape, but the outer panel of each is covered in sustainable bamboo veneer, while the rest is a matte silicone. The look is minimalist and stylish. LED indicators on each earpiece let you know when you're paired, and each outer panel houses touch-sensitive controls. The in-ear fit is secure enough, but it's not hard to imagine these earpieces coming loose during heavy exercise—they onl...

House of Marley's first true wireless earphones, the Liberate Air, deliver solid audio, but there are more compelling options in this price range.

Powerful, bass-forward audio experience; Relatively strong battery life; Solid mic clarity; Eco-friendly design

Pairing process is clumsy and outdated; Not for those seeking accurate audio performance; On-ear controls can be difficult to operate

Preference

I bought the liberate air a couple of a days ago and they are nice, but the sound quality isn't that great, there is not much base when compared to other brands like Samsung and jabra. However, the treble is good for the price. This device wasn't hard or easy to set up, these earphones don't look as good as galaxy buds when in the ear but longer battery life makes up for that Personally I like the galaxy buds better, mainly because there is an app to customise sound quality and they sound better from experience.

Great audio quality, battery life and comfortable

I bought these when they came out, and I've loved them ever since. They fit perfectly and don't hurt your ears over long periods of time. The battery life is great and I find myself not having to charge them every night. Pairing the earphones requires only a few seconds, just requiring you to turn bluetooth on and open the case. It's as simple as that. 10/10 these earphones are a great buy, at first they seem a little pricey, but when you take into account that all materials used are recycled or made from sustainable material, the price is worth it.

Great, but has minor issues

Sound is great. Connectivity is easy. Comfortable to wear, fell asleep with them in. My only issue is that sometimes when the ear buds are connected to my phone, and said phone is in my front right pocket, the connection is bad. Audio will start stuttering and cutting out.

Don’t bother.

Bought a pair of these , after spending an hr trying to get them to sync to my phone ( only the left one worked) finally got them both working. Sound quality was average and they lacked many features that other buds have.. I took them back the next day and exchanged them for a set of Samsung galaxy + buds even though I have an iPhone. Best decision I made , the Samsung buds are awesome and vey easy to use.

Marley Liberate Air True Wireless Headphones EM-DE011-SB review

If you’re a dedicated eco-warrior, these bamboo-clad buds could be a great way to go wireless; however, a bass-heavy soundstage means they don’t compete with audiophile true wireless earbuds like the Cambridge Audio Melomania 1.

Eco-friendly design, Comfortable fit, Easy controls

Overpowering bass, Trebles lacking detail

Marley Liberate Air True Wireless Headphones EM-DE011-SB review

The Liberate Air earbuds from House of Marley are great earbuds that suffer from pairing and connectivity issues. If you’re pairing with more than one device it could be a deal-breaker. The touch controls don’t help in my case, but you could feel differently.

Size, fit and sound, Battery life, Case size and charging speed

Lose touch controls, Support multiple device pairing and fast switching

Marley Liberate Air True Wireless Headphones EM-DE011-SB review

While the Liberate Air isn’t the best bang for your buck in terms of audio clarity, eco-conscious consumers can listen easily, knowing a portion of their purchase went toward reforestation efforts.

IPX4, Purchase supports global reforestation, Compact charging case, Microphone quality, Mono listening, On-board touch (tap) controls

Connectivity issues, Unstable fit, SBC only, Distortion at loud volumes

“The Liberate Air are the most environmentally friendly true wireless headphones you can buy, but they’re not perfect.”
