The Chant Bluetooth cheaper than some portable wireless speakers and its eco credentials mark it out, but sound quality isn't the best. If you're prepared to carry something a little larger, i-box's Twist sounds better and is £10 cheaper.
great sounding portable speaker .nice look and feel
The House of Marley Chant is a portable Bluetooth speaker that delivers decent audio performance for a modest price.
Crisp, clear audio at moderate volumes; Unique, portable design with wood and cloth elements; Built-in speakerphone
Distorts on deep bass tracks; Lacks playback or track navigation controls
If you've played with one portable bluetooth, you've pretty much played with them all. But then there's The House Of Marley, and with the legacy such as theirs, you're getting more than what you bargained for.
The bass heavy speaker is louder than most
The absent "Play/Pause button is a bit odd; seeing as though they made room for a bluetooth AND power button when they should have the same function
While it might not be as small as some speakers out there, the design is still a very portable option overall. There are a few different Chant models offered by House of Marley, and this one is the smallest at about five and a half inches tall, making it a great choice for setup with a laptop.
I bought this to use it when I travel, mainly camping. It was bigger than I thought, but was stunned by the well-built design. It has a wooden material that looks very unique.
House of Marley's Sport Chant ($120) is a portable Bluetooth speaker that can fit in
There are so many portable Bluetooth speakers, that it can be hard for solid performers to stand out from the pack. That's certainly the case for The House of Marley Chant Sport, which does little to set itself apart from the competition—its design is not particularly eye-catching, nor does it offer an incredible amount of bass. But for $119.99, the Chant Sport offers solid value. It gets quite loud for its size, it has a built-in speakerphone feature, and a water-resistant design that can float. Most importantly, it delivers, crisp, clear audio, with a solid amount of richness in the low-mids. If you're looking for a big bass sound, you need to spend more money, but in this price range, the Chant Sport does a laudable job of delivering a balanced mix. DesignWith an IPX7 rating, the Chant Sport is water-resistant enough to handle poolside splashes and rain. In fact, it's designed to float, so it can even handle some time in the pool itself, but you'd be wise not to completely sub...
The House of Marley Chant Sport Bluetooth speaker does little to stand out, but it delivers, crisp, rich audio in a splash-proof design.
Powerful audio performance with solid clarity in the mids and highs; Water-resistant, buoyant design; Speakerphone functionality
Not for mega-bass lovers; Ho-hum design
My first experience with the House of Marley audio product line was with the Chant Bluetooth speaker . The design and sound was fantastic, and House of Marley's commitment to providing superior quality and Earth-friendly products is definitely something a bit different in the industry.
Excellent sound; battery life is getting better; weather resistant
Would be nice to be able to skip to the next or previous song using the speaker controls
