Honor 10 Lite 3GB 64GB

The HONOR 10 Lite is not exactly a lightweight when it comes to features and design. This midrange smartphone is incredibly stylish and functional, and boasts twice the storage of many other devices occupying this portion of the market.

Design plus

The overall design wouldn't look out of place in a more expensive device, with the elongated display, corner mounted cameras and dewdrop notch just a few of the more eye-catching features. With some cool colour options, including a beautiful Sky Blue, this is a very good-looking phone for the price. Plus, the screen to body ratio of more than 90% and a 6.21-inch display promises a great viewing experience.

Affordable phone, million-dollar selfies

The AI front camera recognizes eight selfie scenarios and optimizes the background so you always stand out, while the new AI beauty algorithm can customize beauty effects including acne removal, face slimming, eye bags removal and even teeth whitening! General photography is just as feature-packed, including super night shoot mode which allows you to take night shots in under six seconds of exposure with an anti-shake feature.

This phone plays the game

Gaming is better than before thanks to HONOR’s self-proclaimed "ground-breaking GPU Turbo" which vastly improves the efficiency of GPU graphics processing and the overall user gaming experience.

Heavyweight power

This might be a midrange phone, but the HONOR 10 Lite features a Kirin 7106 chipset and flagship-level Cortex-A73 core for reduced power consumption and increased performance. The storage is just as impressive, coming in at 64GB as standard, much more than many competing devices.

Honor 10 Lite Review: Honor 8X on a budget

Honor, an independent Huawei subsidiary, is well-known and well-loved for offering high-end specs, higher than Xiaomi's, at lower prices. In some cases, it almost rivals its parent by putting almost the same specs and features as, say, a P or Mate series into a more affordable package with only a...

Android 9 Pie out of the box; Bright display with small notch; Long battery life

Slow Micro USB charging; Aggressive memory management; Oversaturated photos; Tinny mono speaker

Honor 10 Lite review

When it comes to something you'll use every day like a phone, cheap and cheerful will only get you so far. The Honor 10 Lite looks the part and can take a decent enough snap for the price, but eventually its quirks will turn into irks. Performance is mediocre, the plastic build is a reminder of how much you paid for it every time you slip it out of your pocket, and the software just won't leave you alone. Backwards steps like microUSB charging are disappointing in 2019, too. When the Moto G6 Plus costs only £10 more, the Honor 10 Lite is a tough sell. A neat-looking notch and skinny screen bezels just aren't worth the software headaches that come with it.

Styling looks the part; Skinny screen bezels and subtle notch; Affordable price;

App and game performance not up to snuff; Software too intrusive; Plastic build feels cheap;

Honor 10 Lite Review

The cemented itself as one of the best phones around the £400 price bracket, now the Honor 10 Lite is here to take ever that made its namesake so appealing and distil it down into a device that costs half as much.

Attractive design for the price; Decent battery life; Included case; Feature rich

Heavy skinned software missing key features; Poor gaming performance (pre-GPU Turbo 2.0 update; Prone to fingerprints; Plastic build

Huawei Honor 10 Lite

The Honor 10 Lite's spec-sheet indicates the smartphone is certainly no slouch, but is it worth your hard-earned money

Nearly borderless display; Handles gaming and other heavy tasks with ease; Above average camera

Short battery life; Plastic build; No gorilla glass protection

Honor 10 Lite review: a little tinkering unlocks a lot of potential

The Honor 10 Lite, the latest budget smartphone from the Huawei sub-brand, makes a bad first impression. It's plagued by spam notifications, tied down with aggressive battery management settings, and puts its face recognition software front and center despite that feature clearly not being ready for...

Minimal notch; Big colorful screen; That headphone jack

Shoddy Bluetooth performance; Aggressive battery-saving options; Micro USB

Honor 10 Lite Smartphone Review

In our test, the Honor 10 Lite presents itself as a well-performing mid-range smartphone with a good selfie camera. The system performance is more than sufficient for most everyday applications and offers sufficient reserves for current games.

good system performance; current Android Pie; thin bezels

no USB Type-C connection; slow WLAN; performance is throttled under heavy load; mediocre battery life; only few frequency bands supported for GSM and UMTS

Honor 10 Lite: Great design and selfies on a budget

It might not have the same silky stock Android-feel of the Motorola Moto G6 nor the same camera performance or include a more modern USB-C port, but the Honor 10 Lite is great in other areas.

Impressive performance; Stunning design; Fast rear-mounted fingerprint sensor

Opts for microUSB over USB-C; Doesn't match the Moto G6's camera performance; Design attracts fingerprints
