Homefront: The Revolution is one of the most heartbreaking games I have ever played in my life. Not because of the story but because I know that this could have been a great game but sadly, there are so many issues with this game that completely ruin the entire experience.

Review: Homefront: The Revolution (Sony PlayStation 4)

From top to bottom, The Revolution disappoints. There isn't a single aspect of this game that doesn't under-perform or that isn't broken in some way. The story is bad, the graphics are bad, the audio is bad, and the gameplay is bad. That's not to say the game didn't have potential.

"If only Homefront wasn't so buggy..."; "If only it was a little more difficult..."; "If only its development wasn't so troubled…" But there is no single, special solution to the problems that Homefront has.

Homefront: The Revolution Review – The Revolution Should Not be Televised

Homefront: The Revolution has a handful of good ideas, and some of them are actually executed well. But none of that matters when the game constantly runs at 25 FPS (PS4) and the gun controls are truly abysmal.

Gun conversion system; Cool characters

Abysmal gunplay; Lots of technical problems; Boring mission design

Homefront: The Revolution Review

Homefront: The Revolution is set in the year 2029, four years after the North Koreans invaded the United States after remotely disabling all of the technology of opposing forces, which were supplied by the North Koreans themselves.

Homefront: The Revolution is a very ambitious game that has all the ingredients of a blockbuster, but somehow doesn't quite feel fully-baked. The single-player game has aspects that are interesting and challenging, but unfortunately it's let down by average gunplay and flawed AI.

Homefront: The Revolution Review

Though its world has some great aesthetic devices and a cool concept, ultimately all of Homefront: The Revolution's elements feel repetitive, unpolished, or downright unnecessary. Over the length of its campaign it fails to deliver a satisfying - or even fully functional - shooter experience.

World design; Weapon conversions

Generic story; Repetitive objectives; Annoying bugs

"How revolutionary is the latest Homefront game?"

Homefront: Revolution is the latest game from Dambuster Studios, and I have to say that my expectations for this game were really high. I like shooters in general, and I remember enjoying the first game, Homefront. That one was a nice blend of shooting and hiding, plus it had a militant atmosphere.

Expected graphics; soundtrack

multiplayer; bugs and other technical difficulties

A

Was really looking forward to this after playing it at EGX. Game came to release it was just a buggy mess. Don't even get this if it's free
