"This game sucks, sorry."

★★★★★ 5.0
Verdict: I played this game more than enough. It suffers from boredom and an uninteresting plot. The story is just ridiculous and out of this world unreal. Narrative designer CJ Kershner told GameSpot "I don't really think that we're dealing with the reality of the political situation now." That says it all!

Homefront The Revolution (PS4)

★★★★ 3.5
Verdict: Not sure why this got such bad reviews. I didn't play on day one but I don't see any issues and its actually a very fun game to play. There are a lot of games out there that deserve a worse rating than this.

Disappoiting.

★★★★★ 3.0
Verdict: Great idea, but the game itself is boring as the characters don't have an arc/backstory. And the game itself was very easy to play. Then the controls were frustrating as the aiming is off, some items don't react/change one moment, and then 'work' correctly the next.

Learned to love the game (on the PS4, but not on the Xbox)

★★★★★ 2.0
Verdict: Like Far Cry 4 (which is my all time favourite game) Homefront is an open-world style action shooter. The story is interesting, the graphics good, and there are many other elements to like. However, it falls somewhat short of the slick programming of Ubisoft's Far Cry 4.

Difficult at first

★★★★★ 3.0
Verdict: Excellent game, similar in play to second son except you can't run up buildings. Difficult at first until you have a few overwatches claimed, then there are more rebels about to help you. You just need to hide a lot.

Good game

★★★★★ 5.0
Verdict: Fun game and easy to progress. The story is interesting if you like distopias and the gameplay reminds me of other games such as Far Cry

Worth a try!

★★★★★ 3.0
Verdict: This game had few problems at launch and first few months. But now it is all fixed and is completely playable. The graphics are really good and gameplay is really good, the shooting is strong, the mechanics are good and story is believeble.

Homefront: The Revolution Review

★★★★★ 3.0
Verdict: An interesting change of pace for a first person shooter that has some nice ideas and mechanics, but can't quite get everything to sing.
Pros:
  • A small but good open world fighting experience
  • Plenty of mechanics and options to try out
  • Lots of freedom to try different approaches
Cons:
  • Wildly fluctuating levels of challenge
  • Slow non-combat sections

Homefront The Revolution

★★★★★ 2.2
Verdict: Wow. I had heard all of the negative buzz surrounding Homefront – The Revolution upon its release but I figured that at least some of it must have been hyperbole; surely, even taking into consideration the game's protracted and troubled development, it couldn't be as bad as everyone was saying,...

Homefront: The Revolution PS4 Review

★★★★ 3.5
Verdict: It has taken so long for this Homefront sequel to be released that North Korea could have conquered America as well as the rest of the world in the time that it has taken to get from the drawing board to the shelf.

(PlayStation 4 Review) Homefront: The Revolution

★★★★★ 2.2
Verdict: America didn't fare well in Homefront , and it's doing even worse in its oft-delayed sequel, Homefront: The Revolution . Things are looking up, though. A group of ragtag rebels have been slowly making headway in creating a foothold to take back Philadelphia.

Homefront: The Revolution

★★★★★ 1.5
Verdict: In the alternative universe of Homefront: The Revolution , North Korea has risen to power through its mastery of technology. When the U.S. defaults on its debt in 2025, North Korea invades, and the game picks up four years later as several members of the underground resistance attempt to strike...

Homefront The Revolution (PS4)

★★★★★ 2.4
Verdict: Homefront: The Revolution is one of the most heartbreaking games I have ever played in my life. Not because of the story but because I know that this could have been a great game but sadly, there are so many issues with this game that completely ruin the entire experience.

Review: Homefront: The Revolution (Sony PlayStation 4)

★★★★★
Verdict: From top to bottom, The Revolution disappoints. There isn't a single aspect of this game that doesn't under-perform or that isn't broken in some way. The story is bad, the graphics are bad, the audio is bad, and the gameplay is bad. That's not to say the game didn't have potential.

Homefront The Revolution (PS4)

★★★★★ 2.0
Verdict: "If only Homefront wasn't so buggy..."; "If only it was a little more difficult..."; "If only its development wasn't so troubled…" But there is no single, special solution to the problems that Homefront has.

Homefront: The Revolution Review – The Revolution Should Not be Televised

★★★★★ 2.4
Verdict: Homefront: The Revolution has a handful of good ideas, and some of them are actually executed well. But none of that matters when the game constantly runs at 25 FPS (PS4) and the gun controls are truly abysmal.
Pros:
  • Gun conversion system
  • Cool characters
Cons:
  • Abysmal gunplay
  • Lots of technical problems
  • Boring mission design

Homefront: The Revolution Review

★★★★★ 2.5
Verdict: Homefront: The Revolution is set in the year 2029, four years after the North Koreans invaded the United States after remotely disabling all of the technology of opposing forces, which were supplied by the North Koreans themselves.

Homefront The Revolution (PS4)

★★★★★
Verdict: Homefront: The Revolution is a very ambitious game that has all the ingredients of a blockbuster, but somehow doesn't quite feel fully-baked. The single-player game has aspects that are interesting and challenging, but unfortunately it's let down by average gunplay and flawed AI.

Homefront: The Revolution Review

★★★★★ 2.5
Verdict: Though its world has some great aesthetic devices and a cool concept, ultimately all of Homefront: The Revolution's elements feel repetitive, unpolished, or downright unnecessary. Over the length of its campaign it fails to deliver a satisfying - or even fully functional - shooter experience.
Pros:
  • World design
  • Weapon conversions
Cons:
  • Generic story
  • Repetitive objectives
  • Annoying bugs

"How revolutionary is the latest Homefront game?"

★★★★★ 2.0
Verdict: Homefront: Revolution is the latest game from Dambuster Studios, and I have to say that my expectations for this game were really high. I like shooters in general, and I remember enjoying the first game, Homefront. That one was a nice blend of shooting and hiding, plus it had a militant atmosphere.
Pros:
  • Expected graphics
  • soundtrack
Cons:
  • multiplayer
  • bugs and other technical difficulties

Homefront: The Revolution review – first person Freedom Fighters

★★★★★ 2.5
Verdict: The co-op action can be fun, but the rest of the game is just as dull and miserable as life in occupied America is portrayed.
Pros:
  • The crafting and item scavenging works well and there's a neat spin on weapon customisation
  • The co-op mode has a lot of promise, and is more interesting than the main game
Cons:
  • Bland visuals, sluggish gunplay, and unremarkable artificial intelligence
  • Uninspired story and mission design
  • The graphical performance is awful, at least at launch

Homefront: The Revolution Review

★★★★★ 2.0
Verdict: Whenever I hear about the Homefront games, I immediately shout "Wolverines" in my mind because the concept is a variant of the campy movie Red Dawn . Sadly, the hero of Homefront: The Revolution is no heroic Patrick Swayze, or even a scared but effective combatant like Charlie Sheen.
Pros:
  • Great weapon mod system
  • Excellent level design
  • Welcome zone variety
Cons:
  • Inconsistent framerate
  • Awkward gunplay
  • Numerous bugs
  • Unimaginative missions
  • Forgettable characters

Homefront The Revolution (PS4)

★★★★★ 3.0
Verdict: Perhaps the saddest thing about Homefront: The Revolution is that it's capably developed. It's not buggy (at least not in the PC version I played) and it runs smoothly. The guns feel fine; the lone vehicle (a motorcycle) is easy to control.

Homefront: The Revolution PS4 Review

★★★★★ 2.8
Verdict: Development Hell, quite unsurprisingly, doesn't usually end happily for video games. Games are lost in the swirling ether for decades, or they arrive, limp, messy and uninspired (Duke Nukem Forever I hark at thee).

Mostly playable rubble: Homefront: The Revolution review

★★★★★ 1.8
Verdict: Homefront: The Revolution is a reboot of a mostly acceptable game. A reboot that brings about nauseating visuals, lackluster combat, and a dull narrative. An impressive customization feature is far from enough to save this sad installment. - Jay Malone
Pros:
  • Interesting weapon customization
  • Co-op has some cool elements
Cons:
  • Putrid visuals
  • Derivative mission design
  • Constant hitching
  • Squanders potential in narrative gloriously
  • Lifeless
