While they probably realized the original was indeed too dark, and the dwarves bring a refreshing less dark air in the game, they still didn't get the point why many other elements in the original were a failure.

When I played #3 I really enjoyed it. I played for hours. #4 was a disappointment, but when I heard there was a #6 I made enquiries and found out it was similar in structure to #3. I wanted it. The price at Amazon was too reasonable to resist.
This will keep me busy for some time
this game was pretty good, definitely better than heroes 4. while I did enjoy playing it, it couldn't keep my attention the way the 3rd game could. the 3d in the game took some adjusting to and I never became a big fan of it.
Be sure to scour the net for valid patches for older games. They can make a huge difference. Compatibility mode for newer operating systems (Windows) can help a lot too. Bios updates for motherboards, firmware updates for DVD-roms, etc.

None that I found
This fifth part of the well-known series, is the first one under the wings of Ubisoft. Creating a sequel to a succesfull series is never easy because of the high expectations. Luckily this game has passed the test.
Another year, another plodding step in the Might and Magic series. Tribes of the East is a stand-alone add-on for Heroes of Might and Magic V, which I feel compelled to tell you I have not played.
Pretty cities
Voice acting; Tedious; Lazy
The path is clear. The enemy's town lies in the distance. Wait! A path appears to the left. It leads to an underground tunnel. Which way should I go? A pit devil appears to the right and yells, "The Wait Is Over." I raise my sword to surgically remove his medulla oblongata.
There are three main franchises in the fantasy-themed, turn-based strategy genre -- Heroes of Might and Magic , Age of Wonders , and Disciples . By and large, all of the games in the three franchises have been excellent, but they've also been fairly similar to each other.
It might be the fifth instalment in the Heroes saga, but with Ubisoft's decision to create a new world to house the Might & Magic series from now on, there's a definite attempt to attract a new audience.
