(Xbox One Review) Halo Wars 2
After the closure of Halo Wars developer Ensemble Studios, Microsoft tapped strategy behemoth Creative Assembly, of Total War fame, to assist franchise stalwarts 343 Industries in creating its follow-up.

Halo Wars 2 is not without its flaws. It doesn't have the depth of other RTS's, but it does control surprisingly well and multiplayer options are abundant. There may not be much lasting appeal for hardcore players, but it is certainly fun in the moment, especially for console players that aren't too...

The campaign took about 8 hours and that killer story hooked me more than the gameplay. Maybe it's because of how I'm conditioned to play console games but this RTS didn't grab me like other games in the genre have.
Pros:
- Pretty Cutscenes
- A Different Perspective on
Cons:
- Average RTS Gameplay
- Console Controls

Halo Wars 2
My heart jumps for joy that Family Friendly Gaming purchased a copy of Halo Wars 2 on the Xbox One for this review. The politically correct PR and Marketing people for Microsoft failed Family Friendly Gaming completely. My guess is because we do not have the same religious beliefs they do.

No Man's Sea
Diluvion is in that most tragic class of disappointing game: the kind with great ideas. There's so much to love and appreciate on the surface that the game's profound awkwardness and convoluted mechanics just hurt to experience.
Pros:
- Beautiful
- painterly art styles
- in 2D and 3D
- Well-conceived setting
- Wonderful soundtrack
- Teeming with moody atmosphere
Cons:
- Confusing controls
- Troubled navigation system
- Combat seems to rely more on luck than skill
- Too reliant on fetch quests

Excellent game. Builds off of what made the first Halo wars successful without deviating from its core foundation.

"My son absolutely loves it."
My son wanted this game pretty bad & says after playing it that it was worth every cent. It is still keeping him happy & very intrigued so I'm happy that I bought it for him.

Halo Wars 2 Review
The Halo franchise is an odd one. The original trilogy was loved by the fans, be it for the hugely entertaining multiplayer content (Halo 2 is arguably the reason why Xbox Live initially succeeded) or
Pros:
- Accessible gameplay
- but depth is there for veterans of RTS games
- Story is great
- for both fans and newcomers alike
- Looks and sounds gorgeous
- Blitz mode is a unique multiplayer addition
- Skirmish modes against AI offer almost infinite replayability
Cons:
- Controls can still be an issue when things get hectic
- Story sometimes feels like a setup for another game
