Simply Amazing!

I am amazed what 343 studio's have done with halo combat evolved, the graphics are soo much improved and game play has not changed at all making this for me the best halo has ever been, I really hope 343 studio's do a simular remake of halo 2, I had the original but playin this really does feel like...

Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary – review

A triumphant return, then, for Master Chief, Cortana, Sergeant Major Johnson and innumerable marines destined to be cannon-fodder in this full HD re-run of the game that both launched and became synonymous with the Xbox .

Well-made but bloody overhaul of classic alien shooter.

Parents need to know Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is a violent first-person shooter that has players killing thousands of aliens with all kinds of weapons of both the modern (shotguns, pistols, sniper rifles) and futuristic/alien (plasma cannons and needle guns) varieties.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary

When the original Xbox released in 2001 there were two games that most considered must buys when purchasing the system. One was a fighting game while the other was a first person shooter.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary

Halo Anniversary, to me, is the Halo game that is the best. It is a re-mastered edition of a classic game, whose only drawback would have been its old graphics. This remake is a good game with great graphics, and leaves me in anticipation for Halo 4!

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary

In the end, Combat Evolved Anniversary is a strange package. Its campaign feels half hearted, neither fully remaking nor preserving the original game. The Reach multiplayer maps, while excellent, feel tacked on to the package to attempt to justify this being a full disc-based release.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary

After crushing the Covenant and retreating from Reach, it only seems fitting to end up right where we began in Halo Anniversary, a commemorative update of Combat Evolved that brings the series full circle.

Halo: Combat Evolved - Anniversary

It's been 10 years since the Halo franchise burst onto Microsoft's original black block, and with that comes the inevitable High Definition rehash of the shooter that transformed Bungie into superstars and Master Chief into an icon.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary

Stop in and say 'Halo' to an old friend

Halo's campaign remains the standard that all other sci-fi shooters are measured against; really nice graphical upgrade and 5.1 surround support; creative weapons and enemy designs; co-op play over Xbox Live; good value at $39.99

Multiplayer is little more than a map-pack for Halo: Reach; best multiplayer levels from the original didn't make the cut; Kinect functionality is gimmicky at best; some level designs show the game's true age

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Review | Get Set To Come Out Swinging

Halo . Those four letters and three chords are more than just a game. It's a potent symbol of Microsoft's success, a global franchise and a banner behind which millions of gamers have rallied. We've had anime films. We've had novels.

Halo's singleplayer campaign is still peerless; Excellent graphical overhaul; Surprisingly solid Kinect integration

Performance problems and inexcusable crashes on older hardware; Half-hearted multiplayer options; Questionable value at RRP
