Halo enthusiasts will love returning to Combat Evolved, if not to remember how well-balanced the combat and weaponry are, then to see the game in an entirely new light. The new HD graphics engine brings the game into this generation, although the presentation on its own certainly won't blow you...

It might not deal with terrorists or modern combat, but Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary remains a downright enjoyable experience from start to finish that most gamers should experience. Plus, it has Master Chief, and let's face it - he's all kinds of bad arse.

Microsoft has sought to indulge Xbox fans with a graphical overhaul of the original Halo: Combat Evolved for the Xbox 360. Like all trips down memory lane it's bitter-sweet, but the emphasis is firmly on the latter.

So cool to pick this up so many years later, the gameplay is still awesome. The HD graphics aren't quite as good as the recent Halo games, but still a huge improvement over the first game.

If you've ever played an Xbox in your life, then odds are that you've played Halo: Combat Evolved , which launched the system and captivated millions of players. But the question isn't "How good was it then?" It's "How good is it now?" The answer: It's still really, really good.

Great product, I would sadly scratch my disk on accident 5 days after purchase and they offered no assistance. Got a new one on the way from a different source. It is like a mix of one and 4 with the pistols being key, and the game play being Microsoft.

Ten years on and Halo Anniversary's worst bits are more numerous than you remember - but its best bits are better than you could ever have hoped.
