gave Microsoft's new console exactly what it needed to make a dent on the console market ten years ago. It took the PC-centric first-person shooter genre and made it work sublimely on a console, instantly seeing it labelled as a classic - and it is still regarded as such today.

What you make of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary depends on your view on the series as a whole: it's either a masterful celebration of a landmark title, a must-have for fans and a worthwhile history lesson for those that missed out the first time, or the bundling of an old game and glorified map...

i bought this with high expectations.......,what a let down,this game is !! What is there to say? If you love the Halo series and especially if you played the original many years ago like myself then this is a must. Especially nice touch is that although they've uprated the graphics in the remake, they've actually included an option to play in the original graphics.

Very well done remake, but a second play through does highlight the flaws in Halo that the excitement of the original didn't. Notably The Library level, which is just pure repetition and frustration. Very difficult as well.
