There is no One M10 at MWC so here we take a close look at the HTC One X9.

HTC One X9 review

The HTC One X9 is a new phone that was, well, launched a few months ago. So it's not new. But it is new because it's now being shipped to more countries, and has some beefier specs than the very similar A9 which WAS launched... wait, let's clear this up. Last year, HTC launched the One A9 .

It was launched alongside the more high-profile HTC 10, which is the company's flagship, and still managed to turn heads with its eye catching design. But will turning heads be enough for the HTC One X9?

Classy Design Decent Performance Good camera

Expensive No fingerprint sensor Not the best specced at its price

HTC ONE X9: Pricey and Staid

Let's face it, HTC is not what is used to be. And while its flagship phone and its fancy VR headset may bring it into the news, it's not in a position to command the high price of Rs 25,990 for a mid-range phone with nothing at all interesting about it. That's the stark truth.

Looks tough; Easy-to-read screen; Battery behaves fine

Far too high price; Not good looking; Broad and tiring to hold; No standout features

HTC One X9 review: Premium looks are simply not enough

It's not a good time to be HTC today. The company is betting big on VR (with the Vive) and the company's focus on its hero products, its smartphone seems to be gradually fading away.

Spending a good amount of money on a smartphone nowadays means expecting luxury with features. Any phone in the sub 15k price band can provide standard features with a decent camera set, build quality, computing hardware and some extras – like a fingerprint sensor.

Nice 1080p display; Grippy ergonomics; Dolby Audio; front speakers

Expensive; Slow multi-tasking; Front camera could be better; High battery drain on gaming

HTC has been able to do well in the premium segment with its One series of Android smartphones, and more recently with the HTC 10 , which also scored well in our review . The Taiwanese company has, however, faced stiff challenges in the mid-range segment from the likes of OnePlus , Xiaomi , and Oppo...

HTC manages to keep its appeal of premium metal clad finishing with a neat design. The One X9 resembles the One A9 and looks more like an upgraded version when you unbox it. Being a sleek device, one can expect it to be lightweight as we all know, it isn't a secret as HTC is known for making good...

HTC One X9 Review: A Stylish Offering For Your Everyday Desires

HTC's One X9 has a lot of expectations to fill, given that it is set to enter a highly competitive price bracket, which is between Rs 20,000 and Rs 30,000. Competitive not only in terms of what other phones in this segment have to offer, but also in terms of the sheer number of options available for...

Sadly, we didn't get the HTC One M10 at MWC 2016, but HTC didn't arrive empty handed either, instead it brought the HTC One X9.

+ Stylish; + Good camera; + Lots of power

- Could be expensive; - Similar to HTC One A9; - Only a 1080p screen
