This is my first Windows based computer in years. I had a Mac that I loved, and originally was going to buy another one. This computer is amazing. I love that it's a touch screen and can switch to a tablet. It's super easy to navigate, the keyboard feels like a Mac, and I love the slim design.
Used this machine as a software developer and it ran extremely hot - so hot that it basically burned the internal components including the SSD which contained all my data and set me back weeks of work. I unfortunately was overseas at the time and was pretty much left high-and-dry.
Today's $1,300 HP Spectre x360 13t undoubtedly ranks among the most aesthetically appealing devices we've ever had the pleasure of evaluating here at Notebookcheck; HP has truly outdone itself in this area, and heads are consequently guaranteed to turn when the machine is flaunted in public.
visually stunning; lightweight design; high-quality input devices; nearly silent operation; fast general system performance; attractive; hi-res display is well-calibrated out of the box; edge-mounted fingerprint reader; full-sized USB Type-A port included
Core i7 CPU provides no perceivable performance benefits due to thermal constraints; high internal temperatures (under load; very warm surface temperatures (under load; high-gloss display leads to obstructive reflections; difficult; inconvenient maintenance; backlight brightness somewhat lacks...
Love the machine but struggled with setting up the touchpad. Spent quite some time reading forums and reviews to learn how to change the settings to allow drag and drop to work better for my use.
This laptop is a little powerhouse. Fast and smooth and the battery lasts all day. I have been so happy with the computer that i really can not say enough grant things about it. I do think it's a great blend of portability, power and size.
I only purchased this brand of laptop because I've got a hp PC at home which I liked. So I assumed that laptops by this brand would be just as good too. However, I find that after a good 10mins into using it, it gets very hot. (And this is just surfing the web).
The HP Spectre x360 13 remains a terrific 2-in-1, even when compared to newer models like the Lenovo Yoga 920 , and still leads the pack in battery life -- see the updated charts in the review below.
Beautifully designed and lightweight, the HP Spectre x360 13 has a great keyboard and trackpad, a sharp HD display and an above-average sound system; Battery life with this display is great, and its performance is top notch
The system runs a little hot and the newly added fingerprint sensor is in an awkward location
HP's Spectre x360 revs up with 8th-gen Intel processors and keeps its place among the best 2-in-1s.
Outstanding performance; Great battery life; especially for productivity and media; Excellent keyboard; Attractive and well-built chassis; Active pen packs some unique special features
Full HD display took a step back in quality; Pen has lower sensitivity than the competition
This is an excellent laptop with a small footprint. It has a 13" screen which is perfect for people who travel considerably since it fits on the tray table in airplanes much better than larger laptops. The webcam included supports facial recognition for Windows Hello.
