HP 27xi Review

Thin is in. From Ultrabooks to phones to all-in-one PCs, the thinner the better. If manufacturers make it thin and sexy looking, customers will flock straight to these svelte products, right? Of course, if all products are sleek and gorgeous, actual performance starts to matter.

Very good image quality; Accurate color rendition; Sharp looking chassis

Limited stand adjustment, No VESA mounts on back; can't be mounted on an ergonomic stand, No DisplayPort

HP Pavilion 27xi 27-inch Widescreen Monitor Review

The HP Pavilion 27xi is a huge widescreen desktop monitor, measuring (you guessed it) 27 inches from corner to corner. It houses VGA, DVI, and HDMI input connectors on the back, making it easy to display output from nearly any computer at a full 1080p resolution.

Huge HD Screen; IPS Technology With High Contrast Ratio; Conservative Design; Easy to Adjust; Touch-Sensitive Monitor Controls

Poorly Implemented Software and Presets; No HDMI Cable; Reflective Screen

Review: BenQ VW2430 and HP Pavilion 27xi displays

(2 items) Before me sit two 1920-by-1080 displays. But aside from resolution, the two have more differences than similarities. No, a display is not just a display. Making a choice between these two requires a careful consideration of size, reflection, performance, and price.

Wide viewing angle; Colors appear neutral; Mediocre text; Display has matte finish; Device stand

Low 1920-by-1080 native resolution for a 27-inch display; Very limited ergonomic adjustments; Overall mediocre image quality; Narrow viewing angle; Couldn't set display to show neutral colors

The HP Pavilion 27xi easily meets your basic monitor needs

The HP Pavilion 27xi is a sleek, affordable 27-inch monitor that easily meets simple monitor needs. That is, movie-watching, gaming, and general Web browsing as well as productivity. It's a no-frills monitor that includes the holy trinity of connections and satisfying picture customization options.

The HP Pavilion 27xi features a beautiful; streamlined design; great performance; and useful screen customization options

The monitor feels plasticky; ergonomic options are limited; and the screen reflects sunlight something fierce

Great for working spreadheets or graphics

I recently got this monitor and have really been enjoying it. My Dell laptop had no problem connecting to it through the HDMI (it also has VGA input)...

Large screen size

Good Basic Monitor for the price

The HP 27xi is a surprisingly good monitor for less than a third of the price of an Apple Thunderbolt display. The best thing about the xi is its IPS panel. Viewing angles are excellent; colors are bright and remarkably accurate.

Adjustable Viewing Angles; Good Bang For Buck; Great picture quality; Large Viewing Area

No vertical adjustment

Excellent Image / Weak Construction

Purchased to use for Photoshop editing. The stand is not adjustable for height. There is no metal in the structure of the stand, other than the hinge.

Exceptional picture; Sleek

Feels cheap

Wow! Great monitor

Finally, a large monitor that doesn't overwhelm my desktop. I have an older Steelcase workstation with overhead shelves; so, the vertical space available for a large monitor is restricted to about 18.5 inches. I first saw the 27i two aisles away and was blown away by its clarity and brightness.

Dvi Vga And Hdmi Ports; Great picture quality; Large Viewing Area; Small Footprint

Not *quite* as beautiful as an Apple Thunderbolt Display

I have a Thunderbolt display at work and wanted something similar in size and form factor. This has done the trick! Not *quite* as beautiful as an Apple Thunderbolt Display, but close and half the price!

Beautiful Monitor, Easy set up ,light wt.

Havn't used it that much yet, but it was very to set up. Great colors. Easy on my eyes. I am a stock trader and I can view more data on a large screen. I am very happy.
