HP Officejet 4500 All-in-One Printer

The HP OfficeJet 4500 Wireless is not exactly a speed demon, but for the price (I saw it as low as $129.99), it's a very good deal. For that price, built-in wireless, an automatic document feeder, fax, and (manual) duplex come as welcome surprises.

Excellent photo quality; Easy to set up; built-in wireless networking; Very competitive price for an all-in-one

Some bleed-through with duplex pages; First page out is longer than average; No memory card compatibility

HP Officejet 4500 All-in-One

The HP Officejet 4500 All-in-One ($99.99 direct) doesn't offer any standout strengths like unusually fast speed or unusually high-quality output. However, it delivers a solid set of MFP features, including everything you need for a home office, the dual role of home and home office MFP, or a...

Network connector; Prints, scans, and faxes, over a network; Standalone fax and copier.

Relatively slow; Although text is suitable for most business use, it's sub-par for an inkjet

Officejet 4500 G510h

The HP Officejet 4500 G510h is an all-in-one printer that comes with all the standard features - print, copy, scan and fax. It has a relatively boxy design with a mix of glossy and matte finish. The glossy finish, although nice, will attract fingerprints and is easily scratched.

Compact size; handy Fast Draft mode; decent print quality

Photocopying quality below par; slow scanning speed

Mangles Paper

I have always had HP printers but I had problems with this 4500 from the start. First I couldn't get the drivers to load and spent over 5 hours on "chat" then on the phone trying to get it to load. It never did load properly. Then the printer mangles every few pages when printing.

This mid-range HP small business printer has an integrated automatic document scanner

The HP Officejet 4500 is a multifunction inkjet printer aimed at small businesses. It can print black and white documents and colour pages quickly in draft quality settings, and the top-loading 20-page automatic document feeder is a boon for quickly scanning or copying multi-page documents.

Useful 20-sheet automatic document feeder; fast monochrome A4 print speeds in draft mode

Slow colour and monochrome printing in regular quality print mode; no memory card ports; single-line screen doesn't display much information

HP Officejet 4500 AIO

The HP Officejet 4500 All-In-One is one of the smallest printers with an A4 sized flatbed scanner available in the market. It has a small footprint and can be easily placed in the corner of your home or office using the networking feature.

HP Officejet 4500 Wireless All-In-One

Good, if you want an economical printer that you wouldn't mind discarding after a few ink cartridge changes. Bad, if you want a reliable printer which will not give you compatibility issues every time you need to replace the ink cartridge.

Fair initial quality with copy features found in more expensive printers

Poor long-term reliability; Does not accept refilled ink cartridges; I refilled the OEM cartridge at Costco and the printer will show incompatibility warnings when the ink cartridges are reinstalled.

HP OfficeJet 4500

HP's Officejet all-in-ones are designed to bridge the gap between home and the workplace at an affordable price. At £110 exc VAT, the Officejet 4500 undercuts its main rival - the A-Listed Canon Pixma MX870 - by around £25, which is a positive start. It's more economical in the long-run too.
