Pros: Compact design, Price is reasonable, Prints quickly, Works with mobile
Cons: Photo quality can be a hit or miss
Verdict: Every now and then, people need a new printer for the house or a company needs to purchase multiple printers for the entire office. That's where HP's Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw comes in.

HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw

Pros: Good output quality. Compact. Easy-to-navigate 5-inch color touch screen. Strong mobile connectivity. Supports USB thumb drive
Cons: Somewhat high purchase price. ADF does not support auto-duplexing. Lacks near-field communication (NFC). Slow for the price. Graphics and photo quality could be better
Verdict: If you need better-looking graphics and photos, the Canon MF634Cdw, our Editors' Choice, should serve you well. If, on the other hand, a couple hundred every day-use prints and copies are what you need, the M281fdw is a decent alternative for an entry-level, low-volume color laser for small offices...

HP LaserJet Pro M281fdw Wireless Color Laser Printer Review

Verdict: There's nothing more frustrating than having office equipment that isn't reliable. Whether it's a computer or a printer, those of us with busy schedules can't be slowed down by an office utility that doesn't do its job when we need it to.

Great printer

Verdict: I was looking for a reasonably priced laser printer for school that would be easy to operate and allow printing from both my computer and phone. I was expecting a more complicated set up but I literally took this bad boy out of the box, hooked it up to wi-fi, and I was printing within minutes!

HP MFP M281fdw - not what I thought it would be

Verdict: This printer, copier, scanner has features that I did not need; however the automatic feed drawer was something that was important to me and is the most disappointing component. The drawer is a single feed slot and that is not what I needed. Seems to run out of ink rather quickly

Pros: This prints ,scans and copies great. What I like the most was the ease of set up. I had my desktop, 2 iPad and two android phone set up in minutes. It was also fair price for color laser printer

I hate this printer! HP was once the best when it came to printers, but this one is not it.

Verdict: Why do I hate thee, let me count the ways, the install sucks, the software sucks, the overall feel of the build is crap(thin plastic that is overly flimsy). Over all I do not recommend this over priced piece of crap printer, nor do I recommend HP in general any more which is painful for me to say as...

5 minute set-up

Verdict: I'm always daunted by setting printers. In my experience whether due to poor design or my technical inability I never seem to find this process easy. Especially when connecting printers on to Home networks. Surprise surprise, I got this printer set up in five minutes! I was truly shocked..

Great printer at a great price

Verdict: Not sure why some reviews are claiming it's impossible to get the cashback as I had an email within 48 hours telling me my claim was accepted! Print quality is great and very fast. The scanner automatic feeder is also a great feature making scanning effortless.

This product is a pain

Verdict: Just a few months and I am having a lot of problems with the wireless function. Good luck is required when switching off and on the wifi and devices, as the printer goes off-line and does not do its basic function: to print. But scanning is possible!

Good Printer

Verdict: Bought this printer on sale. So far so good. Easy to set up. Prints as one would expect. Colors are good. Also has auto duplex which is one of the main features I bought it for. When it initially started printing, it seemed a little louder than I thought it should be.

Even a 72 year old can set it up and use

Verdict: If I can set up and use this it has to be easy. I am no expert but to me the quality is great. I am VERY pleased with the results and highly recommend this printer. Very small footprint on the desk, clean tidy lines that looks good (even impressed the wife)

Nice design. Quiet.

Verdict: My only issue is that within a week of installing, the unit would not power up after a long weekend and I had to call tech support. Was about to give up when I tried one more trick we use for laptops; discharging the residual power (unplugged, hold the on/off power button).

Great features, but too many bugs

Verdict: This printer has great features, perfect size for home/office. But there are too many bugs with it. - The scan to network folder cannot scan any document bigger than 75dpi - The scans, specially from the auto-feeder renders scans that are very skewed, they can't be used for business.

Great value printer

Verdict: Only received this last week but am very happy so far. Very simple to set up, and the print quality is as good as my previous Konica Minolta laser printer, which was a lot more expensive. Can not fault it, it's great value.

Awesome printer until you have to buy cartridges

Verdict: We purchased this printer during the holidays. I absolutely love it and the quality of the print. When we were in the warehouse, I looked for replacement cartridges and didn't find any. The cost of each toner cartridge is $177. There are 5 cartridges in this printer.
