"This printer requires use of an HP account, enabled web services, and Internet connection for setup and use" This is the message it prints out when I try to print something on it without signing up for their "free" online service HP+. HP+ is a 2 year contract with HP that cannot be disassociated from the printer - goodbye any chance of reselling it. Even if you do, according to their FAQ it won't print at all unless it's connected to the internet. My take: this song and dance is so it can enforce 1st party toner.
