HP Touch Screen POS monitor L5006TM 15 INCH

Purchased two of these for the purpose of upgrading some old components of my POS business equipment (my old monitors were rather outdated and were not touch screen capable). One of the main reasons I went with this particular model was the small size, as I knew that I would want it to be wall...

Pros - Easy to use; touchscreen functions are great; very sharp image quality

Cons - Screen gets dirty/finger printed quickly due to touch capability

I even have magnetic card readers velcro'd to the side of each one for CC's 3m makes a great 10 pound velcro that works great fo

Responds very well. Have tried others, but always came back to the HP. I don't need problems. These work well out of the box. I now have ten of these and they get a lot of use. I have only had one die over the years.

Nice Product

If you are looking for a touchscreen, this model has been around several years and is quite solid. It is only a 15" screen, but you must balance size against price. If I were looking to buy another touchscreen (I have 3 in active use and 2 more that wore out), I would only consider one with Standing...

The SAW technology is a big improvement over the capacitive or resistive ones; They seem to become less responsive over time; Once calibrated it works well; Be sure to have the correct drivers for your OS; Nice sharp colorful picture; USB interface beats RS-232 hands down.

No DVI or HDMI connection; RS-232 connection is a waste of space -- no current PC's ship with the old serial port though they may have a header on the MOBO; HP does not maintain the touch screen drivers and you cannot download them from the HP website.

Nice, a bit dim now-a-days, quite heavy (not your LED monitor that's for sure)...there's obviously glass in this baby!

- heavy - touch items at edge not calibrated, and things at edge hard to touch, if they're right up against bezel - works well though across most of the display - should design touch UI to have larger buttons to touch, obviously
