Not Useful for Port Mirroring With Tcpdump

I was very disappointed in this switch because, unlike the earlier 1800 which I own, you are locked out of the destination port when mirroring ports. This means you cannot use a Linux box with a single NIC and tcpdump to do real time port monitoring.

The switched is fine, but Amazon supplied it with a euro mobile phone like power supply, rather than a UK one. I now see the reviewer below had the same issue. I needed the switch urgently so I ended up cobbling together a power supply.

These are very nice switches for their specific purpose. We're using them as PoE powered switches to distribute GigE to groups of desks in an industrial (i.e. dirty) environment. They don't even use fans (sometimes a reliability concern when things get dusty), and they are powered by the same cable...
