To start, if you're one of the lucky people to have bought GH5 around the time it first came out, you may have gotten a copy of Van Halen for free. While free is good, you may want to do some research before you pop it in on your main profile.

I'm not going to lie to you, my expectations for Guitar Hero: Van Halen were extremely low. It's not just the fact that this is the sixth console "Hero" game this year and I have only a passing interest in the band.

Its existence is puzzling, its release an admittance of surrender, and its song selection showcases one singer while snubbing another... yet because Guitar Hero remains fun, Guitar Hero: Van Halen comes away as a decent diversion.

Not being a huge Van Halen fan, myself, I was pleasantly surpised that several, cool, non-Van Halen songs did exist on this disc, though Van Halen afficionados may be disappointed that the game does not include some staple songs from the eponymous band's repertoire.

"I got this game for free because I bought Guitar Hero 5. This is a great game and very fun to play. The graphics are not as nice as they are on Guitar Hero 5 but you will still get many hours of enjoyment from the game.

Another good game from the Guitar Hero genre. I recommend especially the group Van Halen fans.

This is a very similar game to guitar hero metallica in the fact that it tell's the story of the band, practically all of van halen's songs are covered including a few obscure tracks that you might not have heard.

It came to the surprise of many last year when the third Band Specific Guitar Hero game was announced. It's not to say that Van Halen isn't worthy of the attention as they've given us many memorable songs, but in comparison to past games, for Aerosmith and Metallica, their inclusion questionable.
