It's a bit rare for a gaming IP to step out of its normal digs, but it does happen from time to time in this wacky industry. Such IP as Nintendo's Mario Bros. are ubiquitous to the point that off-shoots outside of the platforming genre are viable.

After a brief glance at Overture you might mistake it for a Dynasty Warriors clone. You'd be wrong to do so. While Overture is largely a hack and slasher that sends you speeding across large battlefields and slicing through enemies by the dozens, the game also adds RTS elements.

A lot of games claim to be genre-bending, but normally that's little more than PR speak and a smoke and mirrors attempt to get gamers to buy the same old thing dressed up in a pretty new package.

The Guilty Gear series has been the cult favorite in the 2-D fighting genre. Where Street Fighter II made the genre famous it took Guilty Gear to make characters and combos funny and insane at the same time.

I have been a fan of GG for a long while & was excited when I heard that the next game would be an action game, but sadly it falls short of my expectations. Don't get me wrong the game is not terrible it just gets repetitive.

Ok, other game of the Guilty Gear saga (or best say Guilty Gear 2 saga), Overture have good points for do a great game, the graphics, story, gameplay and other things. But the big problem in this new game is intent have two different genres. Good game.

I was very nervous (though extremely curious) with GG2:Overture. Arc System Works was taking their beloved and fantastic 2D franchise and turning it into a high-speed 3rd person action/strategy (phew!) Game.

GG2:overture is somehow one of the most misunderstood game of all times, probably because of the burden of its predecessors. The guilty gear saga is probably know for being one of the best 2d fighting game, and during the years have produced many titles with some new charachter here and there.

The design of the game looks so great but storyline and the game played suck so badly… This game is really boring and not worth it !

Guilty Gear 2 may be an interesting experiment in cross-genre game design, but it's mostly a shallow mess.

Combining beat-'em-up action with tactics is a great idea; Visuals are distinctive and colorful; Solid and challenging multiplayer

Incoherent storyline and absolutely insane dialogue; Shallow beat-'em-up mechanics; Tactical layer so thin that you can almost ignore it
