Google Pixel 3a 64GB

Google are making big strides in the smartphone field. The Pixel 3a is a prime example. It's the budget version of the standard Pixel 3 model.

First things first

The first impression of any phone is the display; the Pixel 3a comes with a 5.6 inch FHD+ OLED display that Google promises will "take your viewing experience to a whole new level".

A camera that performs magic tricks

At first glance the camera specs might not stand out; a 12.2 MP rear camera and 8MP front camera. Where the camera set up really impresses is the range of tricks it lets you perform. This includes Night Sight, which delivers rich detail and colour in the dark. Depth Editor lets you adjust the depth of field so you can focus on the most important things, while Colour Pop makes the background turn black and white while the subject stands out in vivid colour.

Protect the sensitive stuff

Protecting sensitive data is of increasing concern. In the Pixel 3a, Google’s custom-made Titan M security chip will protect what’s important to you.

Why worry about storage? Storage is virtually unlimited in the Pixel 3a, thanks to Google Photos. You can save all your photos and videos in high quality without worrying how much space they take up.

Google is at your service

One of the best things about a Google phone is Google Assistant. You can send texts, get answers to curly question, set reminders and much more. To get all the help you need, just ask, or give your Pixel a squeeze.

Pixel power

The battery promises upto 30 hours of life. Pixel’s Adaptive Battery learns your favourite apps and reduces power to the ones you use less often. Meanwhile, performance power comes from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 processor.

Google Pixel 3a review

While it lacks some of the Pixel 3's features, the Pixel 3a is astonishingly good value for money when you consider the quality of the camera and the performance of the hardware. At £400, this is a must-buy for anyone shopping on a budget

Amazing camera, Stock Android, Good screen, Fantastic price

No water resistance, No wireless charging

Google Pixel 3a review

When it comes to smartphones, it’s easy to get caught up on the “more is best” treadmill. More megapixels, more gigabytes and gigahertz, more camera sensors… and more money, of course. Then along comes the Google Pixel 3a and slams the emergency stop button.

Best camera in its class, Very affordable, Pure Android promises timely updates, Design doesn't suffer for the budget, All-day battery, despite the size

No waterproofing, Wireless charging is missing, Processor can't keep up with flagship phones

Google Pixel 3a review

Surprisingly good. The Pixel 3a ties in with the virtues of the Google Nexus devices of the past: It is compact, offers good performance and it is affordable. But there is one important difference between the Google Pixel 3a and the old Nexus smartphones. Find out what it is in our review.

attractive OLED panel, fast Wi-Fi, very good speakers, good vibration motor, cameras

display brightness, weak SoC for this price range, small battery, plastic case

Google Pixel 3a review

We're at the stage where mid-range and budget phones now offer some very, very compelling options, while flagship handsets are finding it harder to justify their (ever spiraling) top-end prices.

Google Pixel 3a review: premium camera, plastic case

Google Pixel 3a is the latest entry into the Pixel smartphone series and a very different proposition from the Californian company. Until now, Pixel has always been a direct response to the iPhone – a premium smartphone powered by high-end internals with tightly integrated hardware and software.

Phenomenal Pixel 3 Camera; 3.5mm Headphone Port; Fast-Charging / Fast-Charger In The Box; 3 Years Of Android OS Updates Guaranteed; Unlimited Google Photos Storage

No Ultra-Wide Group Selfie Mode From Pixel 3; No Water Or Dust Resistance; Wireless Charging Has Been Ditched; Not As Powerful As Some Phones At This Price

Google Pixel 3a review

We’ve long been fans of the Pixel range of phones. They may be fairly simple in operation and design, but you’re rewarded with excellent photos in a range of different conditions.

A fine phone for video and photography, it’s just a pity that the audio doesn’t quite match Impressive low light photography Vibrant, dynamic screen Good value for money Disappointing audio performance Rudimentary design and build Slightly underpowered

Google's top-of-the-line Pixel series just received two new smartphones, the Pixel 3a, and Pixel 3a XL aimed at the upper midrange segment. This is the Google Pixel 3a running the pure Android 9 Pie and equips a camera that performs very much like the more expensive Pixel 3.

Compact & Light Weight Design | Resembles Pixel 3; Pure Android | Smooth UX | Faster Android Updates; Remarkable Camera Performance | Mind Boggling Portraits; Crisp & Bright OLED Display | HDR Support; Unlimited Google Photos Storage (~3 Years; Google Playground Is Fun To Play; Decent Performance,...

Large Bezels On Top & Bottom; Lacks 4K Video Recording At 60FPS; No IP Ratings – Not Water Resistant; No Dual SIM Option; No microSD Support; Expensive

Google Pixel 3a review

The Google Pixel 3a is a phenomenal bargain at $399 (and $479 for the XL model). You’re getting so much for your money, including that brilliant camera and an amazing software experience.

Camera is one of the best, Night Sight and portrait mode are amazing, Great size, ideal for one-handed use, Purple-ish color and neon power button are so pretty, Headphone jack

Build quality is poor, Display isn’t great, Snapdragon 670 is slow at times, Battery life isn’t amazing
