There is a smart speaker party going on in the tech world, and some of the major brands are already there. While Amazon may seem like a veteran in the game with its Echo range of smart speakers, Google has recently stepped in as well.

It's almost unfair that most of the world met our voice-controlled future in the form of an Amazon Echo. Sure, the gadget works, but damn is it ugly. The Google Home was better but still sort of silly-looking. That's why the sleek, minimalist Google Home Mini feels like a revelation.

Beautiful hardware design; great software design

No headphone jack

I was on the fence about purchasing ANY system that is connected to the internet. To me they were intimidating. My son bought a Google Home system for his house and after learning how easy it is to use and how inexpensive it was, I thought why not.

I like the Google mini over the Amazon dot. The reason is you can change the voice sounds on the Google and the voice sounds a little more like human as a pose to the dot "Alexa" sounds a little, I don't know, cold, artificial like (imho). All in all, I am pleased with the mini.

Condensing everything that's good about the bigger Google Home into a small pin-cushion-like speaker works great, but it won't blow you away for music

Love my google home - it's fantastic in the Kitchen - handsfree with a toddler is a godsend - music, news and weather on request, plus the Q&A is second to none with Google!

This little speaker doesn't take up much room but it packs a lot of features. It's quite handy having beside the bed and being able to just ask it whatever you want. I also use it to control my chromecast to watch Netflix on.

I bought this for myself and now my grown children want one. I keep mine in the bathroom and ask the time, weather, play, music; just whatever I want while getting ready in the mornings. I can even make a hands free call and actually hear the person on the other end!
