Garmin Approach S20

Very accurate yardage readings but could be more intuitive to use. A lot easier to use than laser range finder!

The watch was preloaded with thousands of courses and the ones I have visited have proved to be very accurately mapped on the watch. The only problem I have got at the moment is that the watch will not pair with my smartphone, I get the message please try later so I will have to persevere with this...

I bought this watch for the everyday use with the benefit of the golf feature, as i already have the Garmin G6 handheld. The battery life is excellent, charged on Monday, wore it all week and it lasted my two weekend rounds(Saturday and Sunday) with 30% left.

As an entry level product, the S20 offers a surprisingly wide selection of useful features. It takes a while to get used to how to access them, but the reward is an abundance of information on your wrist from a device that looks the part off the course as well as on it.

Slick, modern styling with a slimline design; Clear, readable screen that displays accurate distances quickly; Enough features to satisfy the majority of golfers' needs

The buttons are slightly difficult to press one-handed; while the navigation is not very user-friendly and generally involves too many presses

Garmin Approach S20 GPS Watch Review

The Approach S20 is Garmin's entry level golf GPS watch and offers the essential functions for yardages using a button menu rather than a touchscreen. Like most Garmin watches it is light and the rubber strap is easy to adjust and comfortable to wear.

perfect for my needs

it's my 1st gps. I do have a 3yrs old laser to double check yardage. I 've played 4 rounds so far this week and love this watch. - most of all, it's a smartwatch. I can see all my emails, txt, calendars.. - decent look, slick and light enough to keep in your sleep.

I love how easy it is to use - it does exactly what I want and more! It finds courses and specific holes easily. The scoring works well also. Love the Bluetooth feature that lets my watch know when I'm getting emails and texts! I'd definitely recommend this to any golfer!

Garmin Approach S20 review

For most players golf is a 24/7 obsession, and the technique of your next golf shot is never normally far from any amateur hacker's mind. However, that's very much at odds with the way we currently use golf watches , which tend to be strapped on just before a round and then removed immediately...

Most golf bases covered; Easy score keeping; Activity tracking; Hazard and lay up distances

Some issues with distances; Poor screen; AutoShot detect doesn't work; No maps of the entire hole
